Garrett t3/t4 turbo?

anybody have any info on this turbo. There is someone selling a kit with this turbo based on a/r .42. is this a good turbo? is it small/intermediate/or large turbo?
I searched around on the web but couldn't really find anything.

Ya I found ALOT of places to buy them rebuilt. But no specs and wether its a low boost or high boost setup. All I know is its a hybrid turbo and I think the lower the a/r # that means it spools up quicker at lower rpm and less lag? Am I right?

NO, it does not spool quick. I have one and I get full boost around 3500-3800 RPM. I would call it a high boost turbo compared to the stock T25 on the MSP.
 
it's biggggg. I couldn't get my 57 trim, .42ar to spool until like 5k. Not cool.
too big unless you have a lot of supporting mods and a ported head.

I have the 57 trim stage III .48 A/R and I get full boost around 3500 to 3800, and I have a log manifold too. Wierd that you took so long to spool, but I agree, it's too big without more mods.
 
it's also possible that my turbo was a touch ****** up; it threw a bunch of oil into the intake (and probably the exhaust, too). I got it "rebuilt" off an ebay seller. Never again.

My TB03 spools REAL quick. Full 9psi by 4500. It's jsut a hair bigger than a T25.

i went through 2 garrett t3/t4's. i blew them both! it spooled pretty fast, 15 psi by 4000 rpm's. now i went bigger, t3/t04e and i hit 22 psi by 5200 rpm's.
 
I just bought a T3/T4 Stage 3, 60 Trim. (Ya, it's big) but I was told the stage 3 wheels help it spool pretty fast. It has the new 4 bolt Garrett flange too, which I guess dramatically reduces spool time from what I've read compared to the old 5 bolt. Haven't been able to try it out yet, need a new DP made, but when I do get it going I'll post impressions.

I have the same T3/TO4E in my car now. I just cant feel its full potential cause Im breaking the new motor in. But I do hit 5psi by 4k, then I have to let off.

What stage / Trim / and comressor A/R? 4 bolt flange or 5 bolt?
 
man those are some laggy turbos, i bet it must feel REALLY nice when boost actually kicks in?

i can get like 15psi a little bit after 3000rpm
 
those are not big turbos...

why you need 15psi befor 3000rpms?

I all depends on what you want, a quick or a fast car?

I decided to keep the 60 Trim T3/T04 but I'm putting my TB03 back in. As you know, it spools like a muthafucka! Since I'm having it rebuilt, I got them to do the Turbonetics Stage 3 turbine upgrade, 60 trim.
 
yeah,its a good size turbo. Its a good size turbo, but not big really. I hit 7 psi at around 5200. Feels good other than my clutch is slipping a little. I cant wait till the psi goes up, way up.

Stage III will make it spool a bit slower but you will be a bit faster at the end.

I had the same turbo you had, and its so damn f$%^&* nice.

Ya, the guys at the shop were making fun of me cause it was so small and were like "this thing maxes out at like 15psi!" Um.... If I wanted more than 15psi, a new turbo would not be the first thing I'd buy. I like how the TB03 spools SO fast.....
 
Are some of you guys running a .63 turbine housing? I am hitting full boost by

3800 rpms and i have a T3/TO4E 50 trim(450HP) with a .48 housing, sounds

like some of you either have exhaust/boost leaks or need a rebuild.

be careful, a .48 on that turbo will have high exhaust pressure (backpressure).
