in japan, factory axela badges are on the passenger side.

Axela is on the driver side but driver side is on the passanger side and mazdaspeed is on the passanger side but the passanger side is on the driver side. Now that that is cleared up...

i also removed the mazdaspeed3 badge
i left the car in the sun and peeled the badge off using a thin credit card. it hardly left any residue, and it was easy enough to wipe away and then clean.

instead of the axela badging, i wouldn't mind the mps badge

I debadged my Mazdaspeed today. I think I misunderstood what people had posted and tried to debadge it completely, flying M and all, only to realize that the Flying M has 2 holes on the back of it. Luckily, I hadn't completely removed it and was able to salvage it.

No idea. Once I pulled it off and saw that there were holes, I put it immediately back on and re-heated the adhesive with a hair dryer and made sure it was on there good.

When I had decided to debadge, I tried testing the waters first but pulling off a little bit at a time. Then the "3" from "Mazdaspeed3" broke off! So that was the point of no return for me lol. I love the way it looks without the badge in the back though.

How do I get the flying "M" off to paint them?

I ended up masking mine off while still on the car. It was a pain. used paper cut to the contour of the curves and I was able to slide it slightly under the edges, then taped the paper down and draped a tarp over the car. I sanded, primed, and sprayed it. took some patience. I wasn't sure I was gonna be able to do it this way at first, but I didn't want to risk breaking the emblem from prying it off. If I were to do it over, I would just remove it using heat and fishing line, then use some 3M adhesive tape to re-attach it. The holes will prevent you from putting it on crooked.

If you were that worried why didn't you just buy the pre painted emblems from SU?

Because I was able to do it myself for cheap.
