If no holes for the 2007 MS3, I wonder if my NA Mz3 will also be hole-less? If anyone cares to give it a shot, please let me know. I will be picking up my 3 a week from today, and already have the dental floss ready...

lol Ummmm Im not sure If you could tell but you might be able to - try using a blow dryer or heat gun, warm it up and try to move it around a little.... If it does chances are there arent pins holding it......But not always 100%, but usually a good sign........Goodluck!

Since I am going to be at the dealership when I get my car, I am just going to wander over to the parts department and have a look at the fiche, or if I am lucky and they have one, a virgin rear badge. I think that should settle the matter for me. I will post what I find next week.

very nice, how did you do it, jsut pull off and buffer or soemthing? i want to do that same...

regular 3 has holes behind the mazda emblem the mazdaspeed emblem is just stick-on...

Mazda made it easy for you guys to go sleeper. but i guess if it had the holes you could jsut put a regular mazda3 badge in there.

Only the "worlds largest flying-m logo" on the Mazda3 has holes behind it. You guys are lucky. 2 holes on hatch to fill > 6 holes on hatch to fill

Whats up man, I havent been on for a few days, but I shaveed it using fishing line, then I had some left over 3m Spray Adhesive Remover, after I "cut" the emblem off, I spray it down and very gently scratched it off with my finger nail, then wiped it down then waxed it. turned out perfect! You can use floss, or a blow drier/ heat gun, you can heat it up a little bit, NOT TOO HOT, and pull it off, but you will probably bend the emblem, which can straighten out, but then follow the same steps in removing the double sided tapes residue. Dont use Goof Off or something that harsh, I recommend only 3M Spray Adhesive remover because it works pretty good, and its totally safe for your car. HAVE FUN WITH IT! Happy Holidays!

And yeh Thats actually what I was planning on doing, then I saw some guy cut it off with a razor and it didnt leave any holes, the less markings the better for me!

Life just isn't fair

I just don't see the logic in drilling the holes and pinning the NA Mazda3 badge, but not the Mazdaspeed one. Isn't Mazdaspeed longer than Mazda? If you were going to pin only one of these, wouldn't it be the longer of the two? Or, is my logic flawed in that with a longer badge, there is more surface area allowing for more adhesive and obviating the need for pins?

I guess I will just have to get over it. At least my dealer was nice enough to remove the 2.3 badges from the doors before I picked it up. They also stole a stubby off a CX-7 for me (I had to pay for it, but it was nice of them to take one off a car on the lot, instead of making me wait for it).

whoa whoa.. only the "flying m" logo has holes behind it, the other badges can come right off.

the pins are just there for positioning anyway. makes sure it's always straight :)

I need to be absolutely clear on this. If the Mazda3 badge has locating pins on the back of it, there has to be corresponding holes in the hatch into which the pins would fit.

Are you telling me there aren't? Despite what I might display as a full-fledge obsession over this, it really isn't so important that I am going to take it off, if I have to fill holes in the bodywork.

I hate to sound stupid and pushy in the same sentence but: Please be precise, holes, or no holes?

Thank you, Happy Festivus

EDIT: 23:50, Christmas Eve, poised with dental floss in hand...

This thread is about the mazdaspeed 3

We dont have a mazda 3 badge on ours.

The 'mazdaspeed3' badge is just 3m tape. comes off.. NO holes.

The only other badge the mazdaspeed 3 has on the back is the huge flying M and the concensus seems to be that it has pins/holes behind it.
