Whenever I put my defroster on, it shoots out a funny smell with it.. I don't smoke in my car, and I have no idea why it would do this.. Any ideas?

Haha. Thanks guys.. Is my car still pretty new?.. I'd say so cause its an 09, prob like 4-5 months old. And yes, Lowell, Ma sucks, and I'm prob use to the smell cuz I've lived here my whole life, and to 'define' the funny smell, I dunno, I'd say kinda like fumes but not incredible strong..

All I can say is, be glad that you can smell. I can no longer smell or taste anything since I had a "little" fender bender back in 2001.

15 tree air fresheners, huh? i have air fresheners in my car like whoaaa, but it doesn't seem to help...
It's not like one can transmit a smell via the IntarWebz, so I'll do my best to describe the smell ours has had intermittently since the snow started flying this season: Mostly hot rubber with a hint of wet dog and a dash of sea salt.
In our case, I'm betting its the OEM All-Weather floor mats in combination with the heat-defrost mix mode on and the temp turned up to between 2-4 o'clock.
(There has got to be a better way to express that..)

You really do have a unique way of wording, that's for sure. Currently I do not have the All-Weather Floor Mats. I usually have my heat up full way...Just hope my car doesn't explode, thats all.. haha

My car has a funny smell sometimes too!!!!
It's an 08 & I got it back in June. Randomly it will smell like something from the engine is burning or something. Right now it kinda smells like bad hotdogs or bolgna...not too sure what that is about but I'll do up the Air Filter.

(boom07) Well tomorrow morning I have an oil change, so I figure while I'm there, I'll mention it to the guys at the dealership... I'll post later on and let you know what they have to say.
