Funny intake sound???

I have Cobb intake, Cobb turbo inlet pipe, and HKS BOV on full rec. When I change gears after the bov sound I hear a deep sound. Has anyone had this problem before?

check to make sure that you didn't overtighten the clamps causing the inner metal sleeves to bend on either the TIP or intake, could be causing a leak under vaccum.

i have a weird sound too, but its under boost. like once boost gets up around the 14+ psi mark it makes a sucking sound then it stops and repeats very quickly. like there is a fast rotation to boost no boost, but it happens maybe 10 times a second, boost does not actually cut but just sounds like it is. I have the pg full length sri, no leaks, holds pressure... what could this be?

joregea the reason why i went with an aluminum inlet pipe is due to the fact that the cobb inlet pipe, being made of rubber and a thin metal insert, can create a barking noise similar to your burp your hearing if you over tighten the inlet and bend those metal inserts or if the inlet becomes loose.

From what I know there should be no boost in the intake(before the turbo). And the sound comes after the bov sound. Its deep like an echoe. Didnt have time today to check the system, its going to have to wait until the weekend.

Well today I checked the metal ring, nothing. It was perfectly round. I found one loose clamp retighten it. The sound is still there. Any other ideas? Please help.

Did you install all three parts at the same time (intake, TIP, and BOV)? Or what was the last one you installed before it started making the sound?

The last part was Cobb turbo inlet pipe. You just gave me an idea. Im going to take it off and see what happens? (good thinking slyter485) Not unless you guys have anyother thoughts.

Hopefully tomorrow I well tear it down and see whats up. Also the noise happens during regular, slow shifts and when I let off the gas in gear. Does not happen on fast shifts.

when you let off the gas, are you in boost or are you barily going into boost? i ask because if you are barely going into boost and you let off your BOV is not opening all the way so the deep "woosh" you hear might be turbo surge. i get a little sometimes when i just barely get into boost and i let off.

on another note i too have a weird sound coming from my intake when my car is in boost. it makes a fluttering sound but my car does not run any different than before and it holds boost just fine.

Well good news. I worked on the car today, took the whole intake out. Found one clamp a little loose. Also the intake was spliting, could see the metal rings that hold it together. Tightened everything back together and no more deep sound. I guessing air was escaping and making that sound. But nothing that I could really blame for the "deep sound". Thank you guys for your help.
