Full Transmission Replacement

You bet I will although it will be hard to compare the two.

Because it's a complicated machine and my experience with the CX I bought an extended warranty for the first time in MY life.

If the CX was out of warranty the tranny would have cost me $3500-$4000 to replace.

The 7 year 125,000 mile end to end Toyota branded - platinum extended warranty program was $2400. Got him down to $1160 by using the web to comparo shop and pulled the trigger on it.

So - I'm mentally good for 7 whole years.

You guys are a great group - an amazing resource and I plan on dropping in from time to time to say hello.

Be good guys and thanks for everything.

AWLAYS get the extended warranty. When I sold my Z06, I cashed in the remainder of it, and got a very reasonable amount back.

for a little more fun, you can mod a Prius

I'm finished with Mazda.

Ironic that the OP had the transmission issue on his Mazda CX5 (Which was replaced for free by Mazda) but then he gets the C7 and now the OP has to replace the transmission on his Corvette since they have been failing left and right and thousands of Corvettes are having transmission issues.

In addition the Corvette he bought had tons of reliability issues. Car and Driver had a Stingray they did a test on and the engine blew up like a grenade at 6,000 miles. It had TONS and TONS of reliability issues.

They even wrote an article on it: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-chevrolet-corvette-stingray-z51-manual-long-term-test-wrap-up

I quote:
"The litany of breakdowns suffered by our long-term 2014 Chevrolet Stingray Coupe C7 was simply appalling."

The point of this post is to show that ANY vehicle can suffer breakdowns. Mazda CX5's are pretty reliable. Sure the OP's trans failed but Mazda replaced it for free. Now, ironically, his Corvette transmission will need to be removed and replaced also. Plus, they are saying the torque converter in the Corvettes are failing also. In addition the Corvette engines have been blowing up under 10,000 miles.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
