Fuel pump relay

New here; I have a 2021 mazda cx-5 had a small fender bender on the left front, two weeks go by it stops running ? starts sometimes but dies out so I have it towed to the dealer they say the fuel pump relay got jarred loose? they say it is under the headlight on the left side? They took the headlight assembly out to access it ?is this true? I can only find info on the relay in the engine compartment fuse box. Thank you for any info!

Look in the engine compartments fuse box as shown above.
#46 in the diagram is your relay.

This may or may not help but surely isn't under the headlight.

That is exactly what I thought but the dealer says it is in the left side front fender , they had to remove the headlamp to get to it, it is a small relay box under the headlamp assembly???

The way I'm reading that fuse box cover is #46 is your fuel pump fuse at 15A. The fuel pump relay is the big unlabeled rectangular box second from the top in the diagram.

This is the relay box the tech is saying my fuel pump relay is in. The bumper cover is pulled back and its right below the left headlamp

If that's the same box I mentioned then Mazda really F'd up that location.
I don't have your particular car but did a search to get the information to you.

Do you suppose that perhaps Mazda located a relay for the fuel pump strategically and purposely in that exact location so that in the event of a collision where fuel lines might be compromised, the highly flammable gasoline would stop flowing to the area of the hot engine and electrical systems? Maybe?

Possibly, but then the driver's side would be a better choice.

Ooops, I forgot these are built/designed in a right-hand-drive country
