Hey guys....my MP3 is realy getting up there in kms and i seem to be getting crappy gas mileage. I seem to be getting a maximum of 480kms to a tank. Does this seem low to you?

all i know is i can go from oklahoma city to dallas which is 330 miles approx on half a tank at about 95mph average speed.

you can go 330 mile on half a tank... Is your MP3 hybrid? I get around 25mpg.

330 on half a tank, i drive from here to utah quite a bit and all i get max is 400 miles using a bit more than 3/4 of a tank!
not to threadjack too much but is their any reason why after i put my catback on my gasmilage dropped alot?

i guess i have to try and convert....i know that it sounds dumb but in canada, we still call it gas mileage:wtf:

But i think that i'm getting terrible mileage. I just got 430kms on a full tank. This seems extremly low to me. What should i do to increase it. My car is completely stock for winter and i just changed the spark plugs.

With a new set of plugs, the mileage will usually go down before it goes up again. ou have them gapped properly?

Well I hope your dealership is better than mine, mine probably wouldn't even be able to install those right without 3 hours, and 4 of them looking at the engine telling me that all the s*** i do "voids my warranty". I'd do it myself before taking it to them, at least you can verify that you gapped them all correctly.

ok, now i'm getting scared....i put them in myself. Was i supposed to gap them. I hope i didn't screw things up by installing them myself. Now i need some answers:'(

OH heh, you did install them yourself. I thought you had mazda install them. when you get a chacne, just go get a gapping tool from an auto store, and take the plugs out and gap them yourself, shouldn't take more than an hour.

what is the normal gap supposed to be at. My dealership said that they were pretty much plug and play. Just not to tighten them to hard

I never get more than 300 miles on my MP3 before the light was on.
I also think it's terrible.
I am the second owner, is it something wrong with my car??
It's completely stock except an after market air filter.

i'm in the same boat hide5b2a. I have almost 100,000kms on my MP3...i think its around 75,000 miles. I guess i just need a tune up real bad
