Fuel guage

The P5 has a weird fuel guage. Because the quarter-full markers are too close to empty and full, it is hard to tell how much gas I have. It's just annoying.
Anyway, has anyone ran into troubles with this or am I just crazy?

My fuel gauge is crazy accurate...when the low fuel light comes on I have almost exactly two gallons left, which is what it should be. Same thing for the quarter and three-quarter marks. I wouldn't worry about it, but try to gauge it by filling up at a quarter tank and see if it takes 3.6 gallons.

Mine is a little wierd, but maybe winter gas..

It used to go up to the F, but now it doesn't.

I never trusted fuel guages anyways, but I do let it get to the light, when it comes on, I fill up, be it I usually fill up before that, when the light comes on, that is as low as I let it go.

I've noticed the same weirdness. I've had my car for about a month now, so I haven't had to fill up too many times, but I noticed that when i fill up with like a quarter tank left, I can get about 12 gallons in. One time I waited until the needle was below E and it only took like 13 gallons. I've already given up trying to figure the thing out!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 2002 p5's have a 55 liter gas tank. When the gas light comes on and I fill it up right after that, there is still about 7 liters left. I can drive another 50km easy with the light on but I never do.

I've only seen our light come on twice since we bought the car in october. Of course I drive it rarely, mostly when its bad out or parked behinde my car. The gauge is pretty weird though, I noticed that when we bought it. I just figured if I realy need to I'll just wait till the light comes on.
