Fuel Frustrations...

I'm just curious where the shortage is coming from... because all I've seen and heard is reporters talking about the fact that there's no gas. Which, at this point, everyone pretty much knows. Not ONE has said "we have not gas, and here's why..."

it must be worse in GA for some reason... I say regular for 3.67 this morning...

the reasons have pretty much been given in this thread.... there was an exhaustion of supplies due to the excess of demand and the switch from summer to winter blend which further hurt supply...

Its just now catching up to us....

It will level out, just takes time.

I think the gas station in dawsonville that sales 106 octaine still has some of that.

For about $6-7 dollars a gal.

lol well that certainly doesnt help....there's a major cause to the issue lol

"Metro Atlanta is required to use a cleaner-burning type of fuel than others areas to meet clean air standards. That means gas can’t simply be diverted from other areas with ample supplies."

wow..... just wow...

it all adds up I suppose lol

ding ding ding!

HAHA yeah, that one on the left as you're heading down that way? I was thinking about that one last night, wondering if they still had race fuel.

They are debating on whether to remove that ban and accept gas from any refinery.

There is plenty of gas in the tanks in Doraville. That is not the problem.

The problem is the "boutique" blend metro ATL is required, by the EPA, to use.

Sonny is trying to get the requirement lifted so we can use the higher sulfur content gas that is readily available.

I can't boost anymore (sad1)

Ended up filling up with 89 octane crap again.
All of the stations in Marietta were out except for the RaceTrack.
(And the paint store that I bought the Toluene is out until Monday)

Luke drove my car today; he said we went out at lunch to see who had what fuel and just happened across a gast station that a tanker was pulling into. He pulled up to a pump and just waited, like a kid in the candy store, until the tanker finished leaving the fuel. So at least my car has a full tank of 89 and a bottle of octane boost.

Not to mention all the silt the tanker stirred up during the tank filling. Sucks but I guess gas is needed at this point.

I wouldn't go into boost at all, the small octane booster bottles only raise the octane rating by an average of 0.3

I've been driving uber-conservatively anyway since it had been so expensive...I'll just keep driving that way... :(
