Hey guys. I have a obd reader for my phone that i use time to time and it said i was boosting 11.8psi. and I was recently have starting hitting fuel cut. I feel i'm overboosting. Would i overboost is there is a crack in my manifold? i think it would work as a wastegate to be honest.

I had the crack fixed it's just not all back together yet.

A crack can cause it but it's probably a bad BPV or WGA. I wouldn't trust the OBD reader though, get a real boost gauge that's the only way do know for sure.

Thanks for the reply Hornsfan. I have a boost gauge as well, I just figured the obd reader would be more accurate. Regardless though, the OBD read 11.8, and the boost gauge looked to spike up to around 11, so I'm pretty sure it's right. Bad BPV I haven't heard yet, but from what I'm reading here, most people that have this problem seem to resolve it with the WGA. So I guess that'll be step one.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

i would say buy a cheap wastegate from atpturbo.com factory boost should be at 6-7 psi so if you boosting to 11 ur deff overboosting
