Fs-ze Cams?

You can easily get the J-spec intake cam, which is from the japanese FS-ZE engine, from Corksport for about $180...

www.corksport.com

The Mazdaspeed exhuast cam, which was a custom limited production cam made for a limited production Familia in Japan is no longer available as far as I know...Corksport says they are sold out and that Mazdaspeed has stopped production...But they also say they will be making a custom cam on their own using the Mazdaspeed cam's specs...and don't bother asking about the FS-ZE's exhuast cam. It is the same as the North American FS-DE's exhuast cam...

The intake cam makes the biggest difference....The MSP exhuast cam is only marginally different (so is the ZE intake cam, but it still makes a noticable differene in high end breathing)...little evidence has shown that the gains made by both cams where actually mostly made by the intake cam, but on paper the intake cam shows the gains...

I had purchased both cams over a year ago, but didn't get a chance to install them until recently...They do make a noticably better pull to redline above 5500rpm...My bet is that it is the intake cam is making that difference, and the exhuast cam isn't doing a whole lot more than the stock one...So IMO just get the intake cam, unless you can find a used one from a member for a good price...

fyi - get the stock intake cam's pin changed to be the same as the exhaust cam...there you go....you now have the (not 100% sure, but it'll be close) mazdaspeed exhaust cam
