(huh)
First of all....I meant
cost in reply to the $120 post. That is really close to my dealer cost
Second of all, bummer for you......my current cost of an Avital 4400 is right under $100.
That unit is an FM 2-way w/ limited range. It is the same in many ways but has very important differences, mainly warranty and range. Avital is a much lower line than Viper and costs a lot less.
The unit I installed instead of the 560xv was the Viper 5900 SST w/ 1 mile range. (msrp $659). And, the only reason I am selling is because I received the 5900 for free from DEI. ( I know some guys)
Third, I have been in the car audio business managing for over 10 years now. (14 total years and several before that on my own) All of these years I have either sold or installed DEI product. My shop alone installs 300-400 auto starts a year ( not bad for a city of 150,000 and 3 more shops in town)
I manage for a 'Power of One' dealer and am the buyer of 12V for our 23 store chain. Being a dealer of my size gains you significant discounts on products and DFI's on the back side. We purchase at a level just a little bit under Best Buy as far as costs go. This I can state as fact, due to having a great friend that is a regional manager for Best Buy.
If you think for a minute that every dealer pays the same for the same product, you are saaaadly mistaken. Spend a little time @ CES as a buyer and you will see.
Last but not least....you should see who you are flaming before you do so.
Not trying to be cocky....just spewing the truth!
Thanks......had a good chuckle,
