FS-DE on Engine stand?

what issue are you having? it's really not hard.. use the big holes that the 19mm bolts for the trans go in.

engine stand bolts

The 19mm (head, not thread) bolts are too short to work with my engine stand. Any suggestions??

Lowes/Home depot, and autozone don't have anything that will work. I'm going to try napa, but the question is:

where do I obtain different bolt?

yea i had a probem with my stand too, i ended up not even using it
the bolts from the trans-->engine were to big and wouldnt fit through the bracket

so i had to use a table lol

It's on the stand now. I used 3 of the 4 threaded holes. I used a 2.5" bolt that I bought from Napa on the hole that extends into the transmission. I used a 3.5" bolt that I got from Napa on the unthreaded through hole. I need to get a nut on there. I'll do that tomorrow. I won't be doing too much to it at this point though.

You probably can't tell that the arms have a bit of tilt to them. Because the 1 bolt hole sticks out 3/8", the stand fingers are bent a little bit. That puts stress on the fingers, so I'm not worried.

Got the stand at harbor freight for $43. I did hog out the holes so that I could get the engine/trans bolts through. I used a carbide burr on my die grinder, but a sander or a drill bit could do the same thing.

Thanks man, but unfortunately exactly one day to late, haha. Got the motor pulled and mounted yesterday aftenoon.

It turned out that M14 bolts were just BARELY too large to fit through the mounting holes on my engine stand. I ended up just using some 3/8" x 4-1/2" bolts and matching nuts. Probably not the ideal setup, but it worked just fine. Oh, and I made sure to use bolts that were only threaded in the last inch or so, so I don't jack up the threads on the block.

They were slightly too large for mine as well.

I used a big drill bit and bored the holes til the bolts barely fit through.

we just went to home depot and got 4 longer bolts w/nuts and 16 washers just went through to the other side of the engine its not an FS motor but its the same concept you cant see very well but you get the idea
