FS: (4) 17" Snow Tires

:
2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege
I sold my car yesterday so I no longer need the snow tires for it. They are the 215/45QR17 Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50, set of four. I bought them on 12/15/03 from Tire Rack and have the original invoice. I used them for 2 winters on my MSP and it made such a big difference, I cannot recommend these enough! Asking price is $300, originally paid $500...other offers will be considered.

Most people like narrow tires for the winter. If you're running on 235s now, a set of 225s or 215s would work fine.

Although the tread looks pretty good on those tires, $300 is pretty steep. I paid $250 for a used set with only one season and they came with steelies.

The tires on stealies are smaller though and not Low profile, doesn't that add a lot of money?

225s are the narrowest i can go with my wheel, but if i do that i'll lose some sidewall and i already get crappy gas mileage. i was thinking maybe some 225/50s but i think i'll just stick with my stock size. either getting ws-50s or nokian hakka rsi

yes, lower profile tires are typically more expensive, which sucks. for winter tires though you want some sidewall if possible to absorb bumps from potholes and the other fun stuff winter throws at you

Yeah i got some LM-25s for my extra set of RHs and I think I made a bad choice, oh well hehe.

Well, once again I owe CraigsList a big thanks. Got one offer for $250 and tire pickup at my door. A second guy emailed me and I said what the first guy offered me, so I got a counter offer of $270 with pickup, so I went with the second guy. Dude shows up at my door, some college kid with a nice Spec-V, we go up to my apt to get the tires, he pays me $300 and just took the tires and left. Not too shabby for getting 2 winters out of the tires, nice resale value. Have fun boys, it's been a pleasure being in the NEPOC club!
