I was never excited about drilling into the front bumper, so I've run without a front plate since buying the car in April. I finally got around to finding a solution. Thanks to Quik6, who pointed me in the right direction, I found several companies that sell license plate mounting hardware that attaches to your front tow hook.

Unfortunately, none of the companies I found had a setup for the Speed6. However, Rho-plate in Canada was willing to work with me, so I sent them measurements and pictures. Within two weeks, a package arrived at my door:

This pic includes the factory tow hook for comparison. Installation was a breeze.

I'm very pleased with the result. Fits perfectly. Very solid mount and fairly easy to disassemble if need be. They charged me $70 including shipping. Now that they've built one for a Speed6, it should be a piece of cake to have them refabricate it for anyone who's interested.

...by the way, how do I post pics directly to threads? Please PM me

Nice write up mpk. I meant to do a write up a while back on this. Glad to see that you worked with RHO plate and had them make a bracket.
I actually used the stock tow hook and had it machined like that.
