hi everyone..

as you know (or may not know) there's plenty(too much for my taste) of protege5 rolling in the streets of Montreal.

I noticed alot of them had the front left light burned out. well, maybe just a coincidence..

But tonight, it's MY turn. yup, the left light is burned out..or something like that.

Anyone else?

i have been through two front left bulbs (Driver side).....one went out two weeks ago actually.....

Yup. I'm on my 5th leftie and 3rd righty (both Silverstars this time, nice!).. I'd wondered about that too, the odd burning.. my last car (Neon....) didn't have that problem.
It also sucked, so NM that.

i'm having the same problem. when i go to the dealership, they've replaced it, but now the wiring's loose and the light will go on and off by itself

Shoot I have lost count on how many bulbs I went through. Think it is 15+ perhaps.

3+ years of driving. not one bulb burned out yet. they are all factory on my car. knock on wood....

me too. I lost my passenger side bulb, replaced both with silverstars, and have now lost both driver's side and pass. side bulbs (replaced with silverstarts OUCH!) Anyway If I lose another bulb, I'm going to cheaper bulbs and maybe a dealership.

Just a heads up. When one of my silverstars burned out, I emailed Powerbulbs and asked about a warranty. They cut off 50% off their listed price.

I believe I've gone through 4 right side, and 2 left. All silverstars and thats after the stockers. I have gone to Canadian Tire each time and had them replaced (cool) . But I'm worried my luck is running out and at $26\bulb I'm not impressed. When I asked the dealer why this was happining he told me they knew about the prob. but they won't do anything about it because they warranty the stock bulbs for 5yrs.(jerkit)

Went through a pair recently....I have NO idea how to change my fog light that is out...

Mine recently went out too. Haven't tried to figure it out yet.

Should do it soon I suspect. :)

The foglights are a b**** to do as the front bumper cover needs to be taken off. This is in order to get the whole fog assembly out in order to gain access.

In the two years that I've had mine, I have yet to replace any bulbs. Saying that though, Murphy's Law dictates that I will have one burn out tomorrow.

You can access everything from the bottom. When I replaced my foglight housing, I didn't have to remove the bumper cover. (As far as the master bracket goes, I may be off course, though).

doing fine here, does this have to do with climate? like turning them on in the cold wears them out, or something? our cars have it pretty easy here in so cal... (hippy)

no need to remove the bumper to change foglight bulps, you DO have to openup your fender linerat the fornt sotaht you can get at the back of them, and it IS some tight quarters, but definately no need to remove your bumper.

I've been through 4 left side bulbs. I've change bulbs so often that the clip that holds the bulb in place broke off. Luckily the service manager said he'll order me a left side headlight unit or I would've had to pay 300 dollars for the unit. I'm going with HID's next summer.

True !

There is bolt that holds the entire fog light in place. When you remove the bolt the entire fog light assembly comes out.

Ya can be that way to, just went by the shop manual. I just removed the top screw and the 3 fenders ones (each fender) and the bumper became pretty flexible. Gave perfect access to the lights though.
