front emblem! CUSTOM PAINT JOB!

Thats sick man. I was trying to figure out how to black out my emblems but have a red accent as well. Props for figuring it out.

def one, thats a good idea, i am tring ot ge as uch red accent as possible, thats for the idea.. haha

that would work, what would painting just the front of the honeycomb gril look like... not the insides, just the front face..?

thatt might be sorta interesting

If you're thinking about what I think you are, it seems like it might be a big PITA. You would have to tape off all the little inside spots... It would probably look really cool if you have the time and patience for it, I don't!

hey sweetheart... same method. paint the whole thing red like 3 times.... then black. and sand the front edge :)

lol, owned. I hate sandpaper, gives me goosebumps! Plus, you're the paint guru not me!! Get at it though, sounds like it might look pretty sweet!

Oh, and it is attached with screws if I remember correctly...

I kind of think the whole front of the mesh might end up looking over kill... might not tho, its the kind of thing I think you would have to see. lol. not that that helps.

no i know exactly what you mean, but in my head i see it as just enough red and with the intercooler in the background, might be pretty sick..

one day ill be bored enough to take the bumper off and that grill out

i wanna do dat with white, but i just remembered that i broke almost all the clips off the original emblem when I put black ones on........poop

mattj3636 that looks badass! Do you mind if I basically do the exact same thing? I have a true red and I think it would look sweet to do that or maybe do yellow underneath. I was just going to do black but I think I want to do this and some glossly clear coats.

go for it man, show me pics tho! i wanna see someone else with it haha

Thanks! Yeah I'll definitely post up pictures. I'd probably even do a how-to with pictures. I read somewhere else that you can (should?) strip off the chrome by soaking the badge in bleach. Although I suppose sanding would have roughly the same effect. I think I might do a primer coat as well. I'd probably do this over the course of a week or so just because I'm somewhat anal and not in a big hurry.

i tried the bleach with my first emblem, ti does work, however it takes an awfully long time and i was bored one night so i just sanded it, haha looks good enough for me and its easy enuogh to take off and redo if it chips
