Hey!

Quick question - anyone replace their front bushings with the improved 156A (bushings are the same rubber, but have a tape-thingy inside the U part) get them installed, lubed up and when turning hard around the corner and then center here a metal/metal sound? I installed these myself as I DO NOT LIKE dealers and this is what I noticed. Maybe not enough lube or such thing as "too tight"?

I just got some installed by the dealer and I am going to pick up the car in a few minutes...I wont be back for a couple of hours though...Dealer is 90 mi. away.I will let you know my impressions.

Thanks! My dealer sucks ass and said no blah blah blah, so I did it myself (mind you, it was a real pain in the butt - I mean really, pain in the butt!).

I've had them for a few months now and haven't noticed any noise from them at all.

where do the bushings go? i'm getting a clunking/popping noise from my car during turning and if i come to a stop suddenly. i've got the new fronts in from the dealer, but was never told where exaclty they go up front.

I got them recently, the car is tight again, I love it!!! And they changed my rear bushings (E) because the were "creaking" not "clunking"...

While I had my car in for other service today the tech noticed that my front suspension is making a "bad creak when going over bumps" and he ordered 156E for the back and 156A for the front without me even asking.
My problem is I'm not sure I want the front ones replaced. Will the new ones improve or at least keep the car as tight as it currently is? I don't want to soften the front handling or steering response.

It's fine. I got it and it handles the same in my opinion. Def beats the morning crunch noises. It used to sound like something ripping on every bump and dip you go over

yea it stops the crunch but it comes back just like the damn clunk. I had mine replaced in february i think and they need to be replaced again as do the rear ones.

Just had both the front and rear bushings replaced again. Car feels great! Unfortunately, the clunk/squeek/crunch will probably return.

Has anyone swapped all of their bushing with a poly or delrin kit? Has this had any noticable impact on our funny noises??

Unless they're re-greaseable poly will make noise and delrin is good stuff, but you're going to get more road noise with that.

frikkin car and its sounds.... I dont want to go to the dealer anymore... so I should just grease them myself. How would I go about doing that?

Look under ur subframe behind your wheel. theres a bracket that bolts the bushings down behind the axles.

In the next week or two I'm going to be getting both the front and rear brushings all replaced. The car is soo freaking loud over bumps, or just about any road here. Sounds like its going to fall apart.

does anyone have the specific part number for the bushings (front and rear)?

ya, i read the 156E and 156A, but i was at my dealer today and he printed me up a list of all the 'recalls' for the mazdaspeed, and only the rear bushings came up on the list with this info:

BN7H28156E - BUSH,STABILIZER,RR

do you just replace the last 4 characters and voila?

also, is there some place that i can find an official listing of this part needing fixing? some type of mazda service release? i know my dealer won't change stuff up if i just come in with a part number and a request.

thanks.

Check the FAQ, the TSB's are all listed. The rear has a TSB, the fronts (I believe) just have an advisory or something. The last dealer I talked to (Bilco in the north part of Pittsburgh) knew all about both bushing issues. Check www.mazdause for a mazdaspeed dealer in yoru area.
