From MP3T to 2004 Evo

Thank you- I love how it sounds as well. One of the least ricey sounding 2.0 litres out there.

very nice!
good choice on mods too...nice a subtle.
i really like the sound of the exhaust. if you dont mind, how much did it set you back?
i'm trying to figure out what i should go with....
a good friend of mine has espelir, and i really like that too.

Yes that's a very good deal. I luckily had a contact that bought from Megan and was able to get the catback for $380 shipped.

smp3000: how does that thing launch? can you hit the rev limiter, then just pop the clutch and take off without wheelspin?

lol :) It's awd- you can't get wheelspin if you tried... But as far as the launch goes- ya and no... On the stock clutch you don't want to launch that aggressively. The stock clutch won't hold up to anything over a 4K launch- and the transfer case also won't support that.

Sure, but it also depends on how much power you're putting down. The stock diff's are good until you get into the 600's and higher. The transfer cases are pretty weak and the most notorious part on the evo.

Launching on any car like that is going to hinder the clutch life- especially if you're launching at 6-7K with over 300WHP.

My autometer seems to be on the fritz and I believe it's giving lower then normal boost readings- so I ordered one of these bad boys with silver bezzel. You can't beat the look and functionality of the electronic boost reading, and I got it for an amazing price. I will take pics after it's installed.

damn dude, ... I was looking at a 2006 MR (red) sunday..... I found out that my insurance would be like 400 bucks a month. Because the chassis... it's considered a race car. .....I may never get one. (evil)

lol , sorry- I just couldn't have the last post in my thread be about an SRT-4!!!

UPDATE on the evo: Still waiting on my new gauge to arrive. There was some shipping issue and it has taken 10 days now and I still have no gauge. I have 0 idea what I'm boosting at right now, so it's turned down LOW...

Oh ya, and I got a speeding ticket which has resulted in granny-like driving. lol

What!? I THOUGHT (never a good idea for me) that it was a lancer chassis w/ better suspension, engine, etc. I may never get one either :(

hey. i didn't even notice that you switched your car to an evo. i only know of 3 other people on these forums (im sure there are a bit more). good job with the car so far. i'm on a similar path as you...oh wait, i'm still stock. (angel) hee hee

I thought that the stock EVO was built for it, but if yo're heavily modded, you must consider some drivetrain upgrades lest you send you differentials packing.

The stock evo can launch (safely) at like 4-5K, but the stock clutch won't last long if you do it all the time. Many people have the transfer case go as well. Of course, if you're modded it will take even less time, and less launches to kill both of those things.

The evo can launch amazingly, and with the AWD- you can get 1.5 60 foot times out of a stock setup.

I'm unsure of the mods of the car in that video, but it claims to have a T67 and over 500HP. That's nothing to shake a stick at. I have seen it on evoM before. He has those stickers for all the exotics he's killed. (porsche, ferari, lambo) on the front fenders. It's likely a low 11 second car, and I'm pretty sure he's has an Exedy twin disc clutch.
