well what it is, my MAF is dead. so i'll need a new one. the maf was on at the beginning, and when dana took it off, it actually worked. so,he tried putting it back on, and it died. so, no maf right now. i just need to get another one. stupid things. everyone goes through these fast.Kansei said:so what was causing it to just die right after startup? my car did that the one time I forgot to plug in my throttle position sensor
....he was soberWitchdoktor said:there goes dino again acting like he knows what he's doing.
he was lucky. pffftt.....2 to 1 says he wasn't even sober.
oh well. got the job done.hey man, any ideas on a break in procedure? i was looking at the mototune way of breaking in...what do you think?http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htmKooldino said:I'm mostly to blame for the foul mouth. LOL. Christmas eve + long ass couple of work days + cigarette smoke in my face + not looking forward to the long drive home at ass 'o clock at night = potty mouth dino.

awesome. the maf issue is something i forgot to ask about.... now i know. i'll get that taken care of immediatly.Kooldino said:I've read this before and heard this logic, and while I'm somewhat skeptical of that page in particular, there may be some truth to it. If nothing else, frequent oil changes ARE good during break in.
I can't reccomend flooring it and redlining it right out of the garage, but if you want to get on it a bit, go for it.
HOWEVER, don't drive it AT ALL until you get the MAF issue fixed...and also don't forget the fact that you do have a brand new clutch to break in, so you do need to take it somewhat easy for that.
In the forged motor I installed this past weekend, i gave it 50-75% throttle (and about 5psi of boost) within the first mile, but i kept it under 4000rpm.
you need to break in your s*** too:?Kansei said:ewww clutch break in? I'm going to be dying to drive my car when I have it all back together, don't feel like dealing with that crap![]()

YUCK. i guess it's good that i am not running boost.lol..Kooldino said:Yeah, I hate clutch break in.
What sucked for me is that when i first went forged (back in 04 or so) I did a 1000 mile break in on my engine.
I then turned up the boost and started tuning.
The clutch wouldn't hold past 10psi or so, so I needed to replace the clutch (which is a pain because I just had the opportunity to two weeks prior) and then do another 600 mile break-in on that.![]()
bahaha. i guess you've got one to break in as well?Kansei said:600 mile clutch break-in? wow you're really killin me here. They should sell that s*** already broken in.
