dont feel bad zath. first time ever went to a track was only a couple of months of owning my p5. i ran a 17.8 with a manual.....newb at the track FTW. i did beat a grand am though...lol.

haha yeah. That's the key though - finding someone w/a POS to race against and therefore do relatively better. In my case, I raced against my buddy with a manual p5, intake/header/exhaust, motor mounts, lightweight flywheel, and suspension mods. Guess who won!

yeah i got cai, and just got my rear motor mount in to compliment the front. a whole new car.

lol. I've done SRI, header, exhaust, underdrive pulley, and motor mounts since then. I guess I'm just afraid to do the run and pull another 18 second time!

well i dont know what you ran against...but when its your first time there and you know your slow and a mustang that pulls up with big slicks after doing a burnout and runs a low 13 to your 17..........FAIL.

I was there a couple years ago and it was super busy. There wasn't much time to do runs.

it all depends on when you go also. Import wars is usually really busy but then weeknights are dead which means lots of runs. My buddy runs Import Wars (he actually won his class last season) and he gets 4 runs in if he wins but can get only 1 if you get knocked out in the first round then he just does fun runs. Hell I'll race someone in my truck if I can't get the RX-7 going in time.
