Free hack to make small side storage areas in trunk more useful

Hey everyone. Big fan of the forum, it helped a lot in my purchase of a 2021 Signature. Haven’t seen this mentioned, but I found that if you take the little side compartment covers in the trunk, place them on the opposite sides, and push the sharper angle in to the gap on the side of the main cargo cover it forms enough of a wall to keep things in place and make those storage areas more useful. Cheers!

I didn't even know that the CX had covers for these storage areas? Mine does not.

What's to prevent those items, especially your lug nut wrench, from becoming a missile in the event of a 'mishap'?

I think a cheap tool bag from Harbor Freight might be a better alternative.

It would keep things better organized, look better, reduce clutter, and reduce unwanted noise/rattles. You can also quickly remove the items.

Also, get yourself a small lithium ion jump back instead of the cables, and ditch that 4-way for a breaker bar and lug nut socket. That would greatly reduce the clutter.
