haha... SeaBass is definitely not my type!! I think I would be okay with putting Jenson on my "who would i do" list though... :)

Hey all... don't be alarmed, but I changed the league name to "Mazda Forums Online" so I don't exclude members from other forums and whatnot. Don't want to show bias or nothing.

You would!

while we're at this f1 thing... who does everyone think is gonna wrap up the drivers' and manufacturers' championships this season?

It's a tough call. I think it might look something like this:

1.Raikkonen
2.Massa
3.Hamilton
4.Kubica
5.Kovalainen
6.Alonso

Now that I look at it it seems even harder to pick the winner (smash).

My expectations are that Hamilton will not be as good as last year, cause he will be haunted by his slippage at the end of last year. I hope and think that Alonso will do worse this year because of his crappier car. Kovalainen will not get used to the new team as easily so he probably wont win. That leaves Raikkonen and Massa, and I dont think Massa can do it.

My upset pick is for Kubica to do very well. Some of you might be laughing like this (rofl2), but you have to remember that last year the biggest reasons for not scoring much points was from #1 the crappy transmission breaking on the bmw sauber cars (so he was not able to finish or finished far behind due to this), #2 he had that crazy crash and had to sit out a couple races. I honestly think he is on par and probobly better driver then Hamilton or Raikkonen. The only think holding him back is his bmw car and his idiot teammate Heindfeld (who I also despise).

Overall constancy will decide which team wins. I think Ferrari will once again win the constructor cup. What I cant wait is to see how the drivers deal with not having a babysitter (traction control and stuff) computer in there car (cabpatch). This will help to find out who the real drivers are, and not just the technology covering for them.

I personally think that Hamilton's shortcomings last year will drive him even harder this year. I think the only thing holding him back this year will be a team in turmoil (Ron Dennis is leaving) and the lack of a really experienced driver for input. As much as I hate him, I know Alonso contributed A LOT to the success of the team.

I agree with you as the upset-of-the-year. The guy has major cajones, I mean, he wanted to be racing the week after his Canada crash where I thought he was dead! On the other hand, I like Heidfield. He's a very quick, and consistent driver. Unfortunately, he's consistently 4th/5th...

Well no crap consistency will win the constructors championship. It's been coming down to "what if they finished that race" lately, so how nice on the cars the drivers are is going to be key. Between having engines last 2 races, and gearboxes lasting 4 races, it'll be interesting. From the no TC standpoint, I could see Hamilton really succeeding because of his recent experiences in GP2 as well as other series with no TC. I am a DIEHARD Ferrari fan, and have been so since they sucked by in the early 90s (Jean Alesi / Gearhart Burger (yupnope)) but I see Massa catching the failboat without TC. Although I would like to see Kimi and Ferrari sweep it again, I'm gonna say Hamilton World Champion with a Ferrari Constructors Win.

FORZA FERRARI!!!

LOL, it seems obvious but some drivers *cough*Hamilton*cough* don't always follow through. What I meant was that I think there will be some races with 1-2 finishes, some with 1-7 finishes, and some with 2-4 finishes. I think it is more important for the teams to focus on getting 2-4 place finishes consistently then winning every race 1-2. Without the driving assists now, pushing too hard will have much higher consequences then before. I also agree that Massas finishes were more the car then the driver.

indeed. you can't win if you can't finish the race... consistency is what does it every time.

I really hate that I won't get to go to Indy this year. I've been 3 times...thank God I didn't go to the '06 one. I'm just so relieved that Kimi finally won his Championship.

It'll be very interesting to see what Kovalainen can do in that MP4-23.

Another thought...I think Sebastian the Younger will do better than Sebastian the Older, but I hope I'm proven wrong. If I'm not, it should finally be a wake up call for IRL/Champ/CART/whatevadahelldeycallitnow to up their game and produce better drivers.

All you with young kids, get them into go-karts NOW!

I am also very sad there will be no more F1 in the US. I have been to 3 races, 2 of which were won by Schumacher (I think Hamilton one last year). I was at the '06 race (the one with 1/2 the drivers due to tire problems) and it was :bs: . The only good that came out of it was that they sent a refund check for all the tickets. I was devastated last year that Kubica wasn't there. I was sooo looking forward to seeing him drive, but due to having his accident the week before he was stopped from racing that week. I am actually thinking of maybe still going this year to Canada, but that is a far shot, so maybe next year.

Joined the league tonight. flyin'protege. already changed my driver line-up within the first 15 minutes of looking at it.

Bump for mid-day exposure.

This is your last chance to register before the first race. Qualifing for Australi starts tomarrow and the race is this Sunday. Points start counting tomarrow since qualifing and the actual race are awarded points.
