Fell through, imagine that. Additionally, my father passed away on Wednesday, and that day the car started running like total crap. The car is running too rich under boost and misfiring badly, and even at partial throttle NOT in boost, the car is running too rich. Idle is fine. I've changed plugs, no change, checked SSAFC 3 times w/ no change. I have coil packs and wires coming in as we speak, so i'll try those. Still need to check for codes. Not sure what the deal is, but my dad is probably playing a joke on me since he left us.

yeah man sorry to hear. at least you think hes pranking on you, im sure when my dad goes hell find all new ways to tell me im wasting my life with whatever im doing at the time. seriously rough though - im sorry.

on a side note, ill come be miserable with you come birthday time. i think the relationship with the GF is on its way out very quickly, and just in time for my bday (4/6).

Please...someone, buy my car. I can't take this s*** anymore. Make an offer...anything. When the car leaves, I'm going to buy a ******* Honda Fit Sport, and never mod a car again.

stop being a baby.
as soon as i get my replacement passenger side mount from focus - top side work in the engine bay for my MSP, whaddya say

Bryan, I know you're just playing around, but I've put a solid $4,000 JUST in repair costs, not even mods, in to this car in the past 18 months....that's horrible. I really can't take it anymore man.

Yes, I'll give you a hand w/ your motor mount. You know where I live.

My friend might be buying my P5 soon so I'm interested in this. Just gotta talk with the parents then I'll see if I can come up there and take a look at the car.

man, if i still lived in upstate NY, i would take this off your hands no doubt in my mind. im too far away now(idaho)

nice ride

It's still here, and I shipped it here from Ohio, and that cost me $600. Just in case people of longer distances are interested.

sure do. im not at 4 grand in repairs, but im pretty confident im gonna be around 1500 fixing all the busted s*** from the PO when its all said and done, then probably another 1000 in mazda fuckups (i.e. diff). i havent shredded trannys though... not on this car. i got a grand prix with a bad tranny you can take on the cheap if you want a low mod DD.
01, loaded, 3.8 S/C. 3.4" pulley swap and performance exhaust/tstat... for real. otherwise im gonna attempt to trade it in as "running with a CEL but dont know why" when my GF gets a car. apparently those burn a tranny at 120 - 150k which i wish i realized beforehand.

anyways, for topside work... mount, inserts, dryflow filter, PCV, seafoam, vac lines, vac block, boost gauge, alternator belt, joep fpr. nothing hard but a reasonable days work.
and by the way - you should come up to the metal shop one of these days. im running tests of the daveB's pretty soon, that might be worth checking out. or i could machine your vac block while you watch... save on shipping!

Sounds good. i want to do my vac block, some new vac lines, new coolant sensor for my gauge, blah blah. We'll be busy.

That 3800 has a Eaton m62, right ?

m90. 10lb on a 3.8L v6 will get you around town. and another thing thats nice over a MSP - mods for the GP are mostly in the head, you wont have to worry about yanking the engine or dropping the trans once its fixed. it is an automatic though - the only thing i didnt like about it when i got it.

i have some pics around, ill try to get them posted in my webspace. let me know if youre really interested and ill work on it faster and run through pertinent info on the car.

I'm not buying a Grand Prix damn it, haha. I got my car working again. Still small boost leak somewhere, but it's running great in and out of boost. Summer re-tune in boost from AFR 11.1. - 11.8. I checked that fuse on our positive battery cable (15A), it was blown....., all that in Vac rich trouble due to that fuse. Then I just re-tuned the AFC for warm weather. Money.

well next time some stupid fluke happens like that im sure ill get a PM about the grand prix. i know how bipolar your relationship with the car is.

p.s. im gonna keep editing the post with the stuff i want to do. ive been meaning to keep a list somewhere and sorry but your thread is now it.

p.p.s. if you have vac issues you can always swing by here and get a new block for $12!

I'm just getting too old / busy for modding cars, and maintaining or troubleshooting modded cars. It's sad, but true. I have very little patience nowadays for tinkering, especially with my Daily Driver.
