Forged Internals

Anyone thinking about putting in forged internals? Seems like a few people have hurt their motor from boosting, just wondering what everyone thinks.

Hey Boost...why dont you just go and **** yourself???
You have never had anythng good to say about anyone or anything on these forums and to be perfectly honest with you...You are SO lucky that you dont live in Illinois, because I would find you and beat your sorry "inferiority complex" ass !!!

Lol that was extreme, but I do notice that people say Search a whole lot. There are a lot of new members all the time and it doesn't hurt to start a new discussion. It will just spread the knowledge more. And maybe someone who knows new info will post in the new thread instead of finding an old one and posting there.

I had a similar question a week ago and no one answered. So how about you just answer if you can. Wouldn' that be better.

I do search a lot but not much has been posted on the msp and if anyone has done forged internals. I knew that someone would tell me to search but I don't bother with them it's the good replies that help me out, I just ignore the one's who say go search this and that. Believe me I've used that search button once or twice.

according to mazda, the rods are the weak point of the motor. they start to bend at 225 whp. though many members have gone past this, who knows how long the motor will last? forged internals will definitely help. and with the iron block, you can crank the boost up easily and not have to worry (so long as you get fuel/timing to go with it). if i had the money, i'd definitely get some forged internals. course if i had that much money, i'd be making some mad power by now :D

Just out of curiosity how did you know that? ( I am new so be kind :) ) I just don't see companies posting all their stats like that. I've been looking for this info for a while now and I am very intrigued at forged internals.

So basically our block is strong to take good power, enough to have some good fun atleast (if anyone has an idea on the limit I would be interested)

What else is weak besides our rods??

Also anyone know how much those forged rods would cost??

Thanks

well you are going to get the same information as everyone else. its the same engine as all the others....so what specifically applies to the mazdaspeed?

you cant tell me that search didnt turn up anything. ive seen at least 3 threads in the past week just about forged internals.

i talked to one of the guys at my dealership. and actually, he's the one who told me to get on these forums. chojin (shawn of mazdaformance) is the person. and seeing as how he built their mp3-t, i trust his info. btw, that mp3-t is freakin fast!!

and the cost depends on what brand you get. carillo rods are supposedly the top of line...unfortunately that'll set you back over a grand. pistons are expensive too. ~800 bucks i think.

yes, be kind to the newbies :D hey none of us knows everything and we all had to start somewhere right?

All !!!! If you are interrested , I know a compagny who can make a forged pistons for 56$US each + 9$ for a pin.

I have the phone number if one of you are interrested.

I have no idea what those things are supposed to cost, but that sounds cool. Only thing is, if I'm going to add forged pistons, I'd prefer to do all forged internals at once. So I guess my ? is can he do any other parts?

It is frustrating to see the word "search" all the time, but he did say he was sorry for being a dick.

its sure you need to get a forged rods with forged piston. Pauter make rods for our motor, its around of 700$US for the set. But don't forget , if you want boost up 16psi(around) you need to a good fuel management(for daily driving), if not, forged or not, you will blow up your motor for sure !

I was told by a tech who has been working on high end European sports cars (porche, ferrari) that he noticed the valve guides are the first thing to fail when you go nuts with boost. Maybe its the same on Japanese cars?
