Question - With talk of the new P5's coming soon, I've heard that it will be using a Ford Focus platform etc. I would be sad to see the P5 under the control of Ford.

Answer - from Mazda Canada

As for the Ford influence - Mazda is designing the platform and engine and they MAY be using some ford components - but it is totally designed by Mazda engineers. Mazda is in charge of all 4 cylinder platforms for the Ford family, including Volvo. The vehicles will be sharing platforms but the look will be different for each make.

I think that Mazda does a good job, but hve any of you guys heard of the Ford Escort, or Focus Cosworth. That my friends is a bad A$$ Ford.
