ForceFed's Project P5 Build Thread

I didn't know you were coating the compressor housing black?

Having seen most of these parts I can vouch that they look amazing! This thing is going to be sick when it's finally complete. I can't wait to see it up and running.

Kind of makes my build look insignificant...

PS: Forcefed, can you PM me the information of your aluminum polisher guy?

Only the larger ones like the 15...But I would go with a 21 for a Cold weather daily driven car.

yes 21 for sure - i had a 15 in and it needed a jump nearly 80% of the time 100% if the car sat for more then two days - went back to an optima - fun little piece tho - o and out here in WA cold is around 40

nice build force - i'll be doing a similar intake with my RS :) curious about your oil set up been following some of the other threads about that sort of track setup

Nice...Good thing this will have a Plug hooked up for a battery tender..I pla on going ahead and Building it into the setup...Good thing these are deep cycles.

And yeah, I will get a bit more into the Oil setup as I start assembling the engine in about a week or so.

Wow great job so far. Huge props for doing all the detailing urself instead of having a body shop do it. Are you going to stick with the stock silver? And the powdercoated turbo looks amazing. This build must have put u back some pretty pennies. Subing like a Muthafucka!!!

Oh.

My.

God.

(omg)

Don't even know what to say. Too busy gawking. Must move laptop to keep from drooling on keys. Excuse me.

Wipe off the keys..they don't like to be wet....But keep a towel handy..I hope to have you Drooling a bit more here soon.

Engine Assembly should begin today.

Not much..But I got my mount in the mail today.

Nothing to it..if you like putting together puzzles.

But Man is this thing tiny....Still smaller than my hand.

I was gonna get one of those but I heard they don't do well in cold temps...
Probably not..Esp[ecially not this size.
Good thing this car isnt a daily Driver huh?

Besides..I will keep it fresh on a tender.

I love threads like this with lots of pics cuz I hate reading lol. but great work forcefed love what you doing to the P5

Just found out after pulling my trans off again, DO NOT use the throwout bearing that comes with that Spec clutch. It's the wrong size, and not only does it click when you push in the clutch, it doesn't contact the pressure plate al lthe time like it should, and it's noisy as ****. It's too thin. Get the FC RX-7 one instead.

Thanks MAxx..Mind Getting me the part numbers so I can order that...I had no intentions of Using the Spec one anyway....Aftermarkets are horribble about being junk...and I suspected that most of the noise associated with Spec clutchs was in the throw out bearing anyway.

G561-16-510B

It's about $40 from the dealer, and ya that SPEC one is garbage. It clicked and squeaked, I can see where it was spinning on my clutch. I've run that part number above with a SPEC clutch before and it worked liek a dream.

So basically whenever we change out the clutch for something aftermarket, i.e. Exedy, ACT, Spec, we should use the throwout bearing that you listed Maxx? Or is there a clutch kit that works with the OEM throwout bearing?
