Hey guys/gals,
I am curious as to how the bosal catback sounds from inside the car. I use my P5 to commute every day, and I'm looking for something with a little less restriction, and a throatier tone. (Ideally I would prefer a borla, but they currently don't have anything for our cars...) Also, I am not looking for a loud exhaust system... My truck has hedman headers, no cats, and 2 flowmaster 40 series w/turn downs... it provides enough resonance to keep me content from now on. ;) In fact, every time I drive through my neighborhood, I set off at least 1 car alarm, and that is from a road ~30 yards from the cars.

Anyways, if anyone has a bosal system and wouldn't mind giving their opinion, please do so... :)

I wouldnt recommend it, my friend had one on his MP3 and it started getting leaks in the welding / pipe and he only had it for like 4 months. He put back the Racing Beat Exhaust and is trying to get his money back for the Bosal Exhaust.

I wish i had the pics but i dont. It seems like they didnt use a strong enough pipe or good enough material.

I am personally going to try to buy the Racing Beat Exhaust for the P5. Racing Beat seems to know there stuff and Mazda hired them for the MP3 and MazdaSpeed project, so i will get there exhaust for our P5. They said it has a Mellow sound, not very loud at all.

The only problem is that they are sold out of the product and wont get a new shipment till next month.

I have the bosal system and LOVE IT...have had NO problems with it....and it looks great. the tubing they use is plenty heavy and the entire system is polished.

whether or not you would like its TONE is somewhat of a relitive thing....I drive my P-5 to work now and then and that is a half hour drive....course I like my tunes cranked up a little too....I don't even notice the exhause at cruise speed (70 mph). once you approach 80 you can tell its there.....it has a very nice low exhaust note that reminds me of an early model jag or MG.

if you STILL want a nice throaty exhaust but want it even a bit quieter at ALL speeds....buy the SPORT EXHAUST from the dealer at $195. its just an axel back system but if VERY nice quality and sounds pretty damn good as well. :D

I agree with nuke. Here is what I think of the sound
1-3k rpm low and throaty
3-4k rpm loud w/plenty of resonance inside the car. I got used to it after a few times on the freeway. I don't even notice it now. Passengers might complain.
5k and up car sounds like a finely tuned V8 not quite so throaty but sounds awesome

The sound also depends on what gear you are in so it varies. This is just what I hear most of the time

Paople complain about the Bosals quality. I think per dollar this is a quality system. I check under the car today and saw no problems at all and I've had it for four months

as far as the HP increase.....I couldn't tell you, for the simple reason that I installed my injen CAI at the same time...and I have never put my car on a dyno.....so I have no evidence of the actual gains I may have gotten....all I know for absolute sure....my throttle response is better....the car sounds better (IMO), and the car looks better...... with that said....I am happy with the money I spent, and the quality of the products I recieved.
