for those who want to cover holes in bumper

got to pep boys or auto zone or and auto shop and look in the "HELP!" setion they sell some plastic plugs of diffent sizes and shapes! and they cost like 99cents and look awesome! ill post some pics ,,,Damn digi camera! t3ease saw em he can agree=P

from the holes from the liscense plate frame....its a law u need plates in both front and back in some states

oh and some ppl only need it on one side then? well mine doesn't have pre drilled holes on the front, just little indentations, like someone used a little punch on the front bumper. i know ALL states require that you have a rear, so i'm assuming that the plugs are for the front.

yeh, it's for the front. i'm getting an email on monday from the owner about the plugs for the msp. he mentioned that i should use the metallic black that he has but said he could match what is on our cars if i wanted him to. anyone know if there is a specific color # for the black mica on our msp's?

I completely got rid of my holes and it looks totally stock!! Of course I had to get in an accident which destroyed my original bumper... I just asked my body shop to not drill any holes in my new one. I guess this isn't practical for you guys huh. It wasn't really practical for me either...

Yeah, the plugs do look nice. I don't remember seeing them on OrangeMSP's car as it was dark outside, but I've seen them even on a Supra with chamaleon(sp?) paint job. They look quite fitting and while filling the wholes completely and painting them, it's definately not a possibility for me. I'll take the plugs. :D

So the "aftermarket" bumpers won't have the holes drilled?? I just wrecked my car, and I'll need new bumper, so I'll have to make sure to tell the body shop that...

even stock bumpers from the factory will not have the holes there. i know a couple people with mazdaspeeds and no holes because they asked the dealer to not drill them. it looks so much better :D

just tell the shop that you dont want the holes there...if they give you some crap...i dunno then...tell em youll put the plate on with suction cups..lol :D

I don't have an aftermarket bumper, it's a Mazda part, but they don't come with holes (since many states don't require front plates) so just tell your body shop you don't want holes drilled. Sometimes they may ask you to sign a waiver so they aren't liable if you get a ticket. If they are really against it, tell them you are ordering an aftermarket bracket that doesn't require holes, even though I have never found such a beast.

trust me, i've already tried that. they did it anyway. they also never heard of the "waiver". you have no idea how many times i stressed that i didn't want holes drilled.

Since it's their job to fix your car, tell them you don't consider it fixed because There Are Holes In The Bumper!! Tell them to order a new part and do it right this time. They're supposed to repair the car to your satisfaction.

here's the thing mikey,

in the state of california it is required by law that all cars have a front license plate. yes, there are many cars here that don't but it is still required, and because of this fact most dealers will not let your drive off their lot without the front license plate mount on. my dealer never even heard any "waiver" but i wanted the car pretty bad so i took it anyway.

in MA you have to have both front and rear by law, unless you have a green rear license plate from a while back.. i want a green one... to hard to get now

anyone happen to know what the size of the hole is on the front bumper for the license plate or what size screw is used? i received an email from bumperplugs.com and they told me that their metallic black matches the msp black mica. all i need now is to find out what the screw hole size is. if it looks good, i'll take pics and ask them if we can get a discount or something, IF ppl are interested in this type of thing. i'm sure i'm not the only person here that didn't want holes drilled in their bumper but took the car anyway.
