For those looking for Cam Gears

I just wanted to let you guys that are looking for cam gears. Tri-Point Engineering/ProPartsUSA offer Cam gears for the Proteges. It's a 20 degree spread. From 0 degree you can advance the timing by 10 degrees or vice versa retard the timing. The Dyno had a 7 HP increase on the 2.0L N/A motor. We are receiving specs on what settings to set them at to get the 7HP increase. There are 5 bolts. We did not get a chance to dyno the MSP car. They are $315.00 shipped to any where in the 48 cont. States in the US. Number is 818-888-8904, you can PM me or call. My name Jeff if you have any questions.

Once again this just for information

Pics are below.

what can i expect if i purchase them?

Sunbelt Performance says that they had a 7 HP increase. Looks really good of course =) You have to imagine thats a lot of HP just from adjusting the timing.

If you get these, you will probably need to get them dyno tuned. I know of people who have installed cam gears & had the settings so far off that it actually had a negative impact on their performance.

For the N/A motors we have settings at which they should be set at to reach max power.

Yeah, well that's for the NA motors...take another look at the forum you posted this in. ;)

You have to remember.. that its still the same motor. So Increase could be Higher in a MSP. I might get some for my car (MSP). When I do I will hopefully have Dyno Numbers to show the increase for them.

What is going to be the time frame for the MSP dyno run? I am interested in the gears, but I want to see how things turn out before I purchase.

Thanks for the info.

This can partially solve some of the people's complaint that our timing is advanced from the reflash, however this is a broad range solution... just a warning. Good fine and another mod that can be added to the potential modding options.

Huh? What does nitrous have to do with cam gears working or not?

You'll probably want to retard the intake cam, and advance the exhaust cam for boost applications though.
