For Sale Re-Vamp

What's going on? Now there's WAY to many seperate forums in the For Sale section. This needs to go back to the way it was with just one forum. Why the change?

If I want to sell a door handle, now I have to make 3 seperate threads and post it in the P5, 3rd gen, and MSP specific sections.

Sorry for the rant, but can someone explain to me how this makes sense?

I was wondering the same thing.. I guess because it combines the FS sections that are listed under the particular headings (MS6, MS3, & MSP Marketplaces), but yeah.. I have a feeling there is a good chance of missing out on much needed parts by having to click through three different forums to check each one, then we will have issues of people cross-posting that didn't know any better (how many actually read the FS rules, so how many are going to read the new rule on not crossposting).

This change is (notcool) sucks to have to go thru different links looking for parts, its like (nuts)something I would rather pass on doing.

yea im not likin it too much either

wayy to much stuff to click to get to where u want to go
i liked the other way better, one click and all the FS posts are there at one time

what happens if ur selling parts for more then one specific car? u just post in the general for sale or what?

man whoever thought of this didnt really think it through

I'm not liking it either, too hard to just browse. Now you actually have to hunt things out instead of just scrolling through.

Ya, I prefered scrolling through. I didn't mind the annoyance of seeing a thread for "FS: Stainless exhaust" and finding out it was for an MS3 once I got inside. Oh well, one click of the back button gets rid of that problem.

Can any of the mods chime in here as to why the change was made?

The change is still in process but the decision was made after long deliberations between all the mods. We all agreed that we needed a better way to efficiently take care of all the For-Sale sections which includes the model specific sections. Before, we were not able to access the model specific sections due to them being in a different subforum. It'll take some getting used to but it will be better in the long run. Like I said, the transition is still in progress so bear with us for a little while. I know it's a bit confusing at the moment.

I'm not concerned about the transition itself, but rather what it's transitioning to. It's an unorganized mess, with everything split up. It will be better for someone looking for a specific item, albeit they'll now have to check 3 seperate forums entirely, but for those of us who like the "browse" and buy things on a whim, it's gonna suck.

I was going to donate to this forum again, but now I'll put my money toward something better I'm afraid.

There really aren't any more or less sections with the change. They are just consolidated to one area. Give it some time and all the kinks will iron themselves out.

the new FS section is out of control, way too complaicated. its givin me a headache. please make it the way it was before

yeah it sucks. if anything it should be seperated into generations as a whole. a lot of stuff can be swapped from a msp to a p5 or sedan. now you gotta go through both sections one at a time. that is not fun. i liked the old one. like maxx said..."well not for my car" click and your back to the fs section.

i know the mods like this change....but there are way more members on this board than mods. should have taken a poll first or something.

You guys do realize that for each forum you can just post in that forum and not in the subforum if it's something that pertains to both cars? For instance if you're selling a rear swaybar, you can just post it in the P5/MP3/Pro/MSP section. You don't have to choose a specific section. Same goes to the other sections. I don't see how this new system is less convenient. It makes s*** so much easier to find and you don't have to sift through a bunch of threads to find what you're looking for. The FS mods always look to make sure that threads are in the right forums too.

But what about the guy that does post in the "specific" section? Now I gotta go digging through bulls*** subforums just to see his thread. He's gonna get less traffic to the thread, s*** is gonna take way longer to sell because of this, and everyone is gonna miss out on the good deals we give each other here.

Next they'll be breaking the off-topic forum down into "sort of off topic" "way off topic" "kinda off topic" etc...

My point is this: If you want to break it down into the different generations of protege, fine. And I'm not saying that seperating Protege stuff from 3 stuff is a bad idea, but DO NOT break it down further into "MSP" "P5" "MP3" "Sedan" etc.

I maintain we had the perfect FS section before. If i clicked on a thread that didn't pertain to my car, I simply hit the back button.

I wrote my last post in Forcefed's thread about this, but I agree.. I don't see a use in the subforums. By having the subforums in the MSP, P5, MP3 section, it is technically breaking one section into THREE separate sections.. holy crap. (boom02)
