My speed6 is now at the dealer for replacing the turbo due to the smoke problem, car is now 38420 mile this is the second time the car has smoke problem, but this time they replace the turbo, the sad news is turbo is in back order so dun know when it gonna be available so they give me a loaner car for now(alright) if anyone here owned speed6 the early model[first production] be on the look out for the issue,if you have any smoke problem contact your dealer as soon as possible, also they will replace my clutch with they TSB clutch as well.Hopefuly they will give my car back soon

hmm......how did they narrow it down to the turbo that was cuasing the problem? were you losing oil pressure?

Ours is an early production 06 as well and it smoked. They put thicker oil in it and it has seemed to solve the issue (FOR NOW!). We also got the entirely new clutch setup (wow what a nice difference, especially since the wife drives it).

I'm just glad that we have it documented that we were having smoking issues with the car. Just in case something happens in the near future. OH yeah, we only have about 3200 miles on the car.

With All your mods is it under warr.

I used to get some smoke every once and a while. I disconnected the hose that ran from the valve cover to the intake(capped the intake side/breather filter on the valve cover side), and I haven't seen any smoke since.. It's been at least six months without any smoke...

Sadly the only time my car has smoked was at the drag strip, so I can't take it to the dealership to get checked out. Eh I've got a 100,000 mile warranty. Good luck getting your car fixed.

So far my car did not have any smoking and rear-diff issues yet.
*touchwood*

The last 4 VIN num of my car is 0764...darn early production batch....

Hope things work out for you as soon as possible...

I wish they would just give you credit/money towards buying a turbo of your choosing. Obviously this car is not equipped with the correct/efficient turbo it should be.

actually it is, it is maxed out and sized for the power band an gearing of this car. the whole purpose of this car is not some tuner power machine that people of this board and other boards have made the ms6 out to be. the whole point of a car like this was to have the power of similar market cars and not have the lag that is associated with turbo cars, they wanted the power band to be seamless.

I went to a dealer today to get an oil change and told them about the clutch and they told me their going to replace it under warranty. And I got no smoke problem.

Does anybody have burning smell coming out of their vents I took my car to the dealer last friday and they said my diff seal was blown so they gave me a rental and fixed it under warranty my car has 51000 miles on the clock got my car back saturday drove it all day and the burning smell came back so I assumed it was just something burning off but yesterday I opened my hood and noticed oil on my downpipe looks like its coming from the turbo but Im boosting good but whenever I stop at a light the smell comes back and it's bad need some advice.

WOW, I just saw this thread... Oil on your downpipe? Have to assume that would be a leak. I'd take it in. Could be just that the last guy to do your oil change was super messy with the refill, but he's have to be a slob.

except the last post in this thread is from almost 2 months ago so you are a little late with the comment.

NO smoking yet and no issues with rear diff. (Knocking wood).. Have had Clutch repair done. Big Difference. Thinking about CAI and Blow off valve.

I had this exact same problem. Turns out that the fitment/gasket between the manifold and the downpipe was bad. After replacing the gasket, no more burning/smokey smell. I actually had blue smoke coming through the vents. Not good. Ended up driving it with recirc on my internal vents (not fresh air) so that it didn't pull air from the engine compartment into the vehicle.

i wanna take mine in for that same reason but i don't think they are gonna like what they see under the hood.
