Folding Rear Seats for the MS6

After pricing out roof racks for my snowboard, I decided to search around and find the necessary parts to make this work. To give you guys a little background, our seats have the levers to allow them to fold down, but they aren't utilized. A simple fix to this is to pick up a set of regular 6 seat pulls, and install them in the trunk. You can remotely drop the rear seats, but you will still have the diagonal braces and the trunk liner in your way. I've decided that the trunk liner portion can sit in my attic, so that if I decide to sell it down the road, its not cut up and damaged and can be quickly reinstalled.

I will post a how-to with pictures and details for this when the parts arrive.

Will do. I know it has been done on other forums, but I don't think the how-to is all that great. The parts are currently ordered from Online Mazda Parts and should arrive by next weekend (12/12-12/14) and I hope to have it installed by then.

That's the how-to I have on my desk, it's fairly straightforward, but I think a few more pics on routing the cables would be more helpful, as well as a few other things.

Somehow I missed it on this forum when I was searching for it. It seems like a lot of people missed it or didn't know about it. Either way, it's something beneficial and useful for us, and like I said before, putting trim, or mainly, my snowboard, is the main use for me. I couldn't fathom spending $500 on a roof rack when I would use it a dozen times or so.

I priced the parts out about $4 cheaper through Online Mazda Parts. There's not much savings through a variety of online vendors, but you'll save a bit from the dealer.
