I love the look of the FMIC with brand logo on it. I see that Wagner, HiBoost, etc. come with an intercooler that has no logo on it. Is this something that people do after buying the intercooler. How is it done? Can i order HiBoost or Wagner kit and do this? Thank you.

Offer up any and all opinions on topic too.

Yeah, pretty much you can do it yourself. Here's an idea to not paint the logo but paint around the logo.

Go online, find the companies logo.
Enlarge it to a size you like.
Double side tape it to the front of the intercooler.
Spray away with spray paint.

Also, one of the magazines said that there is no loss of efficiency in painting an intercooler.

I was curious about this too.

What would be really cool is if you could do it in reflective paint or something so that oncoming cars can see it at night, I think that would look so hot.

If anyone has done this please post i would love to do it to my hiboost.

Wow, good info. Just reg spray paint? I think thats a pretty cool idea about the reverse logo but thats not exactly what im looking for. Anyone know off hand what brand core HiBoost or Wagner uses?

I'd use a spray paint made specifically for radiators. That way it shouldn't clog anything and you won't lose any efficiency. My fmic is off the car right now and I have been considering doing just this.

plasti-kote makes some. i dont really think you need to search hard for it,rusto or any spray paint thats durable will work, its a few light coats your not epoxy coating it or powder coating it, its just for looks. you shouldnt see an efficiency drop unless u cake it on or cover the entire IC, but even then the loss would be minimal.

That black radiator spray paint looks like the ideal paint to use-- good find. Now I'm just not too sure how I'd make a SPEARCO, etc stencil for the fmic. Maybe.... print out large logo and then lay on carboared and cut carefully, then tape cardboard to ic

I'll make stencils for you guys. All you have to do is pay for shipping and materials. Shoot me a PM.

i'll take one, just let me know how much the total is for materials and then shipping.

Bad Ass dude, what could you make the stencil out of, I think I am going to spray HiBoost instead of Spearco when the time comes...

I was thinking of painting the Mazdaspeed logo on mine, but I'm not sure if I want to or not.

paint the intercooler all black for a stealth look...my prelude friend did that, pretty sweet

They are only gonna be around $5-7 shipped. I'm gonna get some mailing tubes soon. Just shoot me a PM with the dimensions and company(logo if possible) if you want one. I'm shipping Matthew's on Monday.

Guys, please use the radiator paint if you do this. It is made specifically for this type of application, and will work a lot better and last longer. Don't use normal spraypaint on your nice frount mounts!!!:)
