Im very intrested in buying a Spool FMIC kit off of one of the members of this site..but he bought it used and never installed it and doesnt really know too much about it..here is a pic

so my questions :)

1. I saw some pics of the Spool FMIC Kit, where it shows that you can see the piping if you look straight in front at the car 2003 MSP. now on a 2003.5 MSP would the lip hide some of it? Also my car is dropped 1.8 inches...any problems with the pipes getting banged on speed bumps??

2. i read spool made pipes that moved the BOV up a bit so you could use a INJEN intake are these those pipes?

3. Can i run Dual BOV/BPV with this set up and kill the turkey? :)

4. What else would i NEED to make this kit work? because im not sure if it comes with everything

5. is the heat wrap needed on that pipe?

6. Never installed one before, how hard is it?

hey man the spool fmic kit is great. you will have no problem with it hitting the pavement. the lip does help hide it but a dg motorsports lip would hide the whole thing. it takes about 4 to 5 hours installing the kit. its not hard but it is tight get some of the pipes in. you don't need the heat wrap but it could help. i not sure if that spool fmic kit will work w/ injen intake. some of them would but it was special order only. here is a pic.

thanks justin h.

Wow, I forgot all about Spool. When I first got my MSP I almost bought a SPool FMIC, but then I don't remember what I did next.

No, but my short ram Aem/injen combo was a tight fit.

I dunno about killing the turkey but you can run both.

You would of needed some additional couplings and a couple 2.5" 90's.

5. is the heat wrap needed on that pipe?

Nope.

6. Never installed one before, how hard is it?

No instructions and had to do a bit of " customizing" when I found out it wasnt complete. Took about 6 hrs including running around looking for parts.
Decided to install it. It was missing a few pieces so I had to rig it up a bit.
First off Its set up for the MAF on the cold side pipe. Other than that the only problem I ran into was needing a 90 and coupling for the hotside . The place I needed was closed today so I'll have to wait till monday to buy the correct pieces. I just rigged it up to work for now because I wasnt about to rip it all out again. You can see in the pic the passenget side hangs down quite a bit further than the drivers side. thats what I'll be fixing on monday.
All in all its not bad. Not quite a complete spool kit but close.
Butt dyno says i gained a few ponies too.
Oh and lastly a DG lip covers up the pipes nicely.

s*** those pipes hang down low. I'm glad you decided to install it yourself (and not sell it to me, I never would have figured out how to install it).

Its actually not that bad. Well at least it won't be once I get the right pipe I need. Even with the extra work I had to do, its still a great deal for 600 bucks.
