Fmic And Smic Info

if your boosting over 10 psi, get the perrin... your going to need it especially if your getting a bigger turbo.... dont forget to get injectors and ems too while your at it...

I installed the perrin kit and it is very nice.I was a little worried about the size of the core being too large. I thought that I wouldnt pick up any time at the track but I ran a 14.4 to my 14.7 before. I think I can do better next time.

do you work on your car yourself? or, do you have a place in cincy you go to for performance works?

Pictures would make a world of difference within this thread. Would it be possible to get some of you guys to post pictures and name the brand kit you used.

both the Mental Addiction Motorsports and Ion FMIC kits are not sold anymore here...or anywhere from what i've seen and researched. So those might need to be taken off.

there are still plenty of used kits floating around the forums... maybe the purchasing info should be taken off, not the entire description.

Well yeah, after having the intercooler laying around for a while I finally decided to install it. I gathered a few friends to help me get it on the car and after a few hours of work we finally did it.

The first three pics show where I drilled the holes on the bumper support / crash bar. It also had a middle section that had to be drilled. Then after that I just unbolted the crash bar and drilled holes from the bottom also. I had to get 5'' long screw from home depot to make sure I could go all the way thru to make sure the intercooler stayed in place. After a lot of drilling, and a few drill bits later this is what I got.

This one shows the intercooler already bolted. I cut off a little bit off one of the extra couplers I have to make sure the bolts dont rattle. (metal + metal = annoying noise)

Here's how the intercooler looked after it was bolted to the bar.

Then I still didnt feel like it was going to stay in place and with all the vibration from daily driving the car, I knew I needed something else to make sure it wasnt gonna fall on the street while driving so I bought a few long zip tides and tied them around the fmic.

After this all I had to do was put the bumper together since we were all tired and didnt feel like doing the piping on the same day, but probably this week the hard pipes, turbo xs bov and relocated MAF will be done.

Heres the last picture of how it looks with the bumper on.

PS: Yes, I painted the intercooler black since I'm going for that sleeper look, but I still need to get the mesh that goes there to make it even harder to spot.

Suggestions are welcome :)

hahaha is that the power adder cone filter from pepboys? lol i got that too, i used to have that before i got the injen CAI...i even go the extension that goes where that hole is and got some aluminum flexi pipes and put it in the passengers side front air dam...ahhh good times!

dannyboy that looks great. I really like the sleeper look, what did you paint it with?

Although this Corksport IC I just got is so sexy, I'm not sure I want to paint it

I went to home depot and bought some bbq / grill paint. I tried looking for radiator paint at an autopart store, but couldnt find any.
