fmc bbq and promans b-day bash
4/15/06 11:00 a.m. till the break of dawn
ft desoto beach 3500 pinellas bayway- tierra verde,fl 33715
and then heading out to desoto speedway they have open runs till 9:00 p.m.
please sign up so we can know what to expect and if ur bringing something put down what ur bringing.

wow tampa so not a 452 hr drive away from me, i could do a tampa meet no problem during this time, i got family that lives in tampa plus it only takes me about 5 hours to get there. keep me updated

I dont mean too sound like a dick but why post it up in the main forum then, its sounds as if your impling its for the Tampa crowd? and I know you didnt post it in the first place, but it should have just been said right off the bat.

Tampa has not been officially chosen for July, and they may be mutiny form down south due to lack of a really south FL location I cannot make in one day to and from.

hotels for everyone, y do the events ahve to be a one day thing? y cant it be a weekend. like when i went to the alabama one we camped out all weekend. this is much more fun imo.
so y couldnt people start getting there maybe friday night and get a hotel or what not and hang out till sunday?

Tampa has not been officially chosen for July, and they may be mutiny form down south due to lack of a really south FL location I cannot make in one day to and from.

I cant do South FL, any lower then where we were this last weekend in one day neither, and in order to go to someplace like miami it would really take about 3 days, one day to get there, one for the meet, and one to get home, Miami is a long haul for me, and even worse for the guys north of me, Raider and further north, Jax, would be like 500+++

BTW ...this was posted here because FMC is not a Tampa Bay only crowd...thats why it is FLORIDA Mazda Club....so if anyone in the area would like to join...feel free...this is by no means intended to be a HUGE meet, but anyone is welcome to join.

edit: I'm probably going to get blasted for these remarks, but they are my opinion:

I think it is awesome that there are meets regardless of the "expectations" of huge meets. We are having a bbq at markham park the second weekend of February for Vito. It doesn't mean that there should be 10 gazillion billion people there. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't ask it of you, in agreeance with what evilmonkeyMSP is saying. And I can tell you that there WILL NOT BE awards or prizes or anything at markham either. I think we should reserve those additional bonuses to the two semi-annual meets, only. You guys shouldn't have to drive 4+ hours every month to every "local" bbq. Who has the time or money for that? After the bbq in april turns out to be an awesome meet, there is still going to be the 4th Semi-annual meet in July, and I'm sure there are going to be other meets in between those two. If everyone decides that Tampa is where the semi-annual is going to be, then so be it. There will be two meets in Tampa within three months. I know the tampa crew gets together every weekend by Sonic (damn you all for having Sonic Burger by you ), it doesn't mean that we need to be there every weekend as well. Everyone needs to realize that these semi-annual meets are the kind that everyone saves up for and drives 4 hours for. That is the reason for the all the extra goodies... a gesture of thanks for all of you driving those distances to be together, albeit for only one day.
