Flywheel problems

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have a 1st generation 1985 GSL SE (Turbo). We are trying to install a 1988 turbo II manual tranmission into a 1985 stock 13B motor. I was told if I changed the flywheel to a 1988 turbo II flywheel it will throw the engine out of balance. Is this true?

yes the flywheels weigh differently.. you will need to use the proper counterweight on the engine and even then with cross gen weights you may still have issues.
