I am looking to do both my front and rear badges this weekend into the "M". I know that there are holes on the rear and the front (I think?) I plan on taking them off and tapein them off so they look good and cutting with a dremel and them painting them and re-installing.
So what is the best way to remove the badges so that nothing gets damaged? hair drier and floss?? also i would like to know where the holes for the badges are located. I am guessing on the sides but i am just making sure. Also what should i use to re-apply them? glue 3-M tape?

Any Insight will be helpful
and if anyone has any pics please feel free to post

edit: i did a search but i didnt find what i was looking for.

Interesting. The entire Mazda logo is referred to as the 'Flying M' so I was confused. Why would you want to replace it with something nobody will recognize?

To reattach it, you can just use some heavy duty double-sided tape or foam. 3M makes a double-sided foam that is designed for attaching trim, you can get it at your local auto parts store.

i'm w/ jersey on not changin the logo. maybe i'm bias b/c the only time i saw that emblem was on was on riced out msp.

as far as taking it off, i'm 99% sure the mazda emblem is glued on, meanin you can take it off by sliding a credit card inb/t it. check from inside the trunk to see if there are any holes behind it. when putting it back on silicon works well too. it holds strong, its waterproof, wont damage the paint, and will not leave a gap.

That actually looks pretty cool but it looks like he just painted the parts of the emblem where you want to cut it black to blend in. Maybe it is just my eyes playing tricks on me, it seems like there is still a slightly visible ring around the emblem, maybe not.

ya there is but thats because of the backing behind the emblem. but the rear would not have that.
does anyone who has taken off the rear mazda logo know where the pegs are located?? if i cut the top and bottom off i dont want to have the holes being exposed.

i have done this as well, i thought i was the first one to do this mod, but apperently i was wrong :(
