Flyin' Protege turbo kit review in Aug GRM mag

The August issue of Grassroots Motorsports magazine has a review on the Flyin' Protege turbo kit by Flyin' Miata. In it, they discuss the MP3 ecu versus the stock ecu, plans for further upgrades to the kit to put out 10psi boost and for a minor revision to the piping to make the kit work with the 1999-2000 1.8L motors.

Damn, I went to Barnes and Noble, and they didn't have this mag there (at least at the one in Arlington). Looks like I will have to make a trip out to Dallas/Plano tonight.

Picked it up at Borders Books today. Plan on looking through it when I get home. Seems like a pretty cool magazine. I may subscribe to it.

Whats up with the article? I have not found the mag here in SA,TX yet:cool:

good article, It mentioned that the mp3 dyno less hp the the P5. Anyone know if those dyno #'s are with the 2.25 catback exhaust.

That was with lower octane gasoline (octane of 91), 6 PSI, and advanced timing. I wonder what my car would dyno with 93 octane and the J&S Safegaurd retarding the timing at 8 PSI?

167whp is pretty impressive with stock piping and cats. I would think with your mods your into the 200's.

How much does the J&S cost and does it work?
