(What is going on with this forum and taking hours to load single pages!!!!)

Ok so has anyone here heard of Florida's 25 foot rule, where if they can hear your radio standing 25 feet or more away from your car it's an automatic non-moving violation. Friggin 75$ ticket because I dont listen to my radio at a WHISPER! None of this would have happened if my car had decent A/C and I could roll with my windows up, but no I have to roll with my windows down because the damn car has the worst A/C in the world (Protege 5...still waiting on the Bug). Apparently my exhaust is also not "street legal" in Florida....it's one of the quietest exhausts available for my car that actually produces performance gains over stock.

What the hell is with this state, Georgia never gave me any problems...hell I had cops tell me how good my car looked while I was in Georgia!!!!

Sorry guys just wanted to vent a little.

At any rate, I can either pay the 75$ or I can go to court and contest it....But how the hell can you contest that? The cop claimed he could hear my stereo from 412 feet away. Keep in mind this is a completely STOCK system with the exception of some Infinity Reference speakers. This was also on a busy two-way 6 lane road during the end of rush traffic.....? So either my rink-a-dink factory stereo has one of the best amps in it, or these reference speakers double as mega-phones....eithey way I am out 75$ because of a 25 foot rule?!?! At leat Georgia gives you like 100 yards before they bust your balls. Damnit.

You can hear a harley from a half-mile away...do they write moving violations to every motorcyclist on the road?

We had one in Allentown. 25 ft and its a fine. What about their radios? They bother the s*** out me. A siren needs to be loud, whatever any one can see why that is exempt. Radios do not.

I remember when that law got passed, http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112033

You can consider fighting the ticket. Unlike in CA when I was growing up, you gotta prepay the ticket basically, then fight it. I got pulled over in my vw bus by the CHP who claimed to hear my stereo at least 1/2 mile away. Dating myself, I had 2 Kicker 12's in 2 seperate boxes that were 3 feet long, 18" high each, and powered by a 600 watt amp, plus 350 to mids and tweets. I was blaring AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" at full volume going up 101 near Hollister when he started to hear me coming, windows down, jamming to the sounds. Yeah, I was lucky, got a $150 ticket. Could have been worse if he checked my car, but he used to have a vw and wanted to bs about mine.

Now I am worried about the exhaust law, as I have a header and Racing Beat exhaust. It is loud if I get on it, but not as loud as if I had a midpipe. I will need to buy a stock header if I get a ticket, as mine is gone.

**** Florida.

Oh, did you get a ticket in Alachua? They are total pricks here. I got a ticket last year, at the end of my street! I could literally SEE MY HOUSE, and got a ticket for rolling a stop sign. So stupid. The cop was behind a Caprice rolling on 24's with a dozen guys in it to give me the stupid ticket.

unless it was damaged  you cant have aftermarket exhaust and if its louder then X amount of db's also get ya a ticket. I find the profile rice or really loud exhausts.

complain about the siren. Its to loud. You can hear that more than 25 feet LOL.

Haha sad I thought about doing that but he was letting me off for the exhaust anyways so I didnt want to piss him off.

I have no sound deading so it's not my fault you can hear my speakers through my doors.

Thank you. Is it my fault this car isnt built to be a mobile sound studio? Should have gone with a BMW!!!

hmm, I crank s*** and no one gives me a problem. However, I don't sit in traffic with my music blaring..

Neither do I. I mean I am considerate of other people on the road. I understand that soccer mom next to me doesnt want her children hearing the vulgar music that is so trendy. Thus I turn it down and enjoy the vulgar-ness when there arent other cars around me.
