Florida Tint Law

Wife got pulled over by smoky saying tint on car too dark. He did use the test machine. Does anyone know what the limit is ? Or can I use a lighter tint on the front windows.

You can use lighter on the front windows. Rears can be as dark as you want.

The car has been tinted for 4 yrs. I think the cop had nothing to do. What is strange we drove the car to Atlanta with no problems, and the tint law there is very strict.

Did you get the windows tinted 4 years ago or did a previous owner? When I had mine done in FL they made my sign a waiver when I selected Front and Back equally dark. They said it was outside the law but almost everyone choose this option.

Strange law. In Texas, the tint shops are just legally banned from installing >35 on the front windows, and I think 20% is the limit for the rears. No waiver...they just won't.

When I worked for a car audio place back home in Florida we would only install less than 35% if the customer was alright with not getting a receipt.

%15 all the way around for 3 years and I didn't have to sign a waiver they just told me if I get a ticket take the car back to them and they'll change it to the legal limit for free if I wanted it.

Yep, legal limit on front windows is 35%. I've been running 20% on all my cars since the late 80's, and never gotten any grief about tint here in FL or anywhere I've road tripped. I think your wife was just unlucky.

Is she hot? Maybe the cop was trying to run game... lol

seems to make no sense why you can't have dark tints. If cops and limos can have them why not everyone else? Bogus law. Sorry your wife had to be bugged by a dodo cop.

im sure its more of a safety precaution for the cops, so they can see any suspicious activity. if u notice, the tint laws are more strict in places with higher rates of crime.

I got pulled over once but i rolled all my windows down so he didnt catch it. He was a D$#K too!! I roll w/ 5% all around.

I was pulled the other day(reason was not tint, but was for not letting him into traffic), but got talking with the guy (thank god). He said it was 28% in the front and 15% in the rear. Windshield tint strip at 5% but can't pass the legal lines. (which my 07 speed3 did not have labeled, which confused the **** out of the cop) I have 13% all the around including the windshield strip.
