Flashed CEL and Battery Light== Rough Idle. Maybe MISFIRE? please help

okay so i have a 2003 Speed Protege with only 72XXX miles on it.. i have a short ram intake and a catless exhaust ( Corksport ) ..

Recently when driving and coming to a stop, the RPMS will drop extremely low and have a weird idle sound.. its almost like its losing power.. When i try to step on the gas its delayed a few seconds and has no power.. few seconds later it will accelerate...

The check engine light has flashed once or twice along with the battery light but it has never stayed on.. This never happens when im driving and in gear.. only at stops or neutral...


please help!!

alternator could have loose wiring or could be on its way out. it is 10 years old after all. some shops test your battery/alternator for free btw

I would start with this. Sounds like an alternator issue

Blinking cel? Sounds like some kind of loose wire somewhere. Could be crank position sensor, cam position sensor or either of the coil packs.
