Fixing your 08.5's volume/cutout issues

I know theres a bunch of threads on this but I wanted to put it to bed, and maybe just get this sticky'd

You're dealer should replace your HU for free under warranty

The Problem:
As far as I know this only effects the 08.5's.
Volume level 31 is louder than 32,33,34 and 35 is really loud
Changes in speed(i.e. going from 50 to a stop) cause your volume to lower and bass to cut out completely.

Solution:
I took mine in to dealer told them my problem(said they have heard of issue) and after hearing for themselves order a new (processor) unit I believe.
Took about 3 days, which they supllied the rental car for.
Sounds great now and 31-35 now increase volume like they should.

Please don't start yelling about how 31 is way to loud blah blah, the previous year models I believe have different volume levels. i.e. an 07's 20 may be the same as an 08's 30.

Don't have an '08.5, but after using my MP3 player in my '08, I can definitely see raising the volume levels really high since some songs don't transfer over as well. Good info...

Cool. I think the other thread has the actual TSB # and a scanned copy of the instructions for the TSB. If you find those, you should include them here.

Bass cutout issues

I have a 08 GT with a non-Bose 1CD/MP3 stereo and I have these cutout issues also. My vehicle was built on Jan 28, 08. So its not just 08.5 and later.
I have been looking for info on this for awhile. Thank you for putting that Service Bulletin on there. I'll be taking my car into my dealer next week. I actually called Mazda USA last week and they wouldnt or couldnt give me any information on this issue. Obviously its been a problem.

I know this has been on other threads, but with all the idiots who treat these threads as an instant message on Yahoo making worthless comments, a simple thread can turn into 40-50 pages like was discussed above.

so thank you for putting this SB on here. Now I have what I need to get this fixed.
