So I recently just bought these MSP rims from a member here. They supposedly only had a FEW curb rashes that weren't very noticeable.

They came in the mail today and the rims are just mangled. Is it worth it to fix, or should I try and return them to the member?

I posted this on the forum I most commonly frequent, but I would like more widespread opinion. I purchased them for $550.00 shipped. Did I get "hosed"? Or is it worth it to fix considering the rarity of these rims?

man...-10 pts to style for lieing to you...=/

yes, you've been hosed, cause that's definitely NOT a "few" that are "not noticeable"...-_-; did he just take really zoomed out pics in the sale pic so that you couldn't see?

i, personally, wouldn't give someone money for those rims if i could have seen the condition they are in right now, so i would recommend returning them if you can...=/ do you know how much it would cost to fix the rash? if it costs ~100, i would go for it, but much more than that, and i would wonder if it were worth it at all. you could always use these for winter tires. who was the member who sold you these rims, btw?

Yea, thats definatly not right... a few, thoes are horible. I would return them. I jsut dont understand why people would do this to fellow car friends... It just seems really ****** up.

well, all this is "on your honor", so looks like we know how far honor will get you with this person...-_-;

I would check around for a refinishing place first before going ahead and ditching them. When I worked at a BMW dealership, we had a small attached place that fixed up wheels that had curb rash, gotten banged up, or were pitted from the brake dust. They weren't to expensive.

Well, I don't want to go ahead and bash the member.

I'm going to see what it will cost to fix them.

And no, the pictures in the sale post did not show the extent of the damage. :(

The engine just blew in my car this weekend too... this has not been a good week.

The problem is I am in love with these wheels and have been looking for a pair for the last year. I know I got swindled... but. >_< Egads, I want a set so bad.

I probably should just return them.

good lord...talk about tough luck! well, at least you don't have an urgent need for those wheels now? ^_^;

oh, and as much as that member deserves to have to take these back, you should definitely try to get them fixed for a reasonable price because you like them so much. in the end, your happiness is all that matters! ;o

I want this thread closed... me and the buyer came to terms and I refunded her most of the money she paid for them while at the same time being able to keep the rims.

It is to be noted though that the pics I posted are legitimate pics of the rims, and not closeups of the damage. It should have been the buyer to inquire of the damage and for more pictures. She didnt do that, but since I am not a Beau like guy I followd exactly what she proposed to do.

when i sell stuff that is anything less than perfect, i always make it known in the post and with pics. we're a community of fellow mazda owners, this is not ebay. just my 2 cents!
great to hear things got worked out for all!(cool)

That's pretty bad. You knew they were damaged. It is your responsibility to say so.

Sorry, this thread won't be closed at the moment.

Actually, DAMN.

I need to sell these as a set. The have a little bit of curb rash, but not too bad as you can see in the pics... the curb rash that was there was smoothed out so they look good even from up close.

I am asking 450 dollars for all 4. Local pickup is preferred. If you want the tires, wich are shot, and you will pick them up i'll take 400 for them. I live in St. James MN, zip 56081. Otherwise I can ship all of them in the continental us for 550 shipped.

You outright lied about the condition of the rims. I don't care if you ended up making good by refunding part of the payment. You knew they were severely damaged, and sold them with a blatant mislabeling of condition.

This is a very serious matter.

I'd like for both buyer and seller to contact me via PM with details on how the sale was agreed on and how the matter was resolved. Thanks.

OMG how many curbs did you hit?!

The beauty of a public forum is that i can give my 2 cents....

WTF is wrong with you man? I thought you were one of the dudes that got screwed over by Beau, then you bitched about it......

Its amazing how bad people are.
