Fix it? or make it faster...

Should I fix it right now, or wait till we move in 3 years?

Got rear ended and got insurance money for it ($1006). It took 7 months to get the money because the insurance companies were playing the blame game... so I've been driving the car like this long enough now that it doesn't really bother me. I don't even really notice it other than while I'm washing it.

I attached a pic... there's no sheet metal damage and very little paint damage (only on the bumper)... so it won't cause rust or problems if I don't fix it. I would like the car to be perfect.. but it's a daily driver and I don't know if that's really ever going to happen. The main problem is that I live in town and have to park on the street. Most of my neighbors are good drivers, but once in a while some of them like to play bumper cars while parking or have general disrespect for anyone elses car. They already damaged the front and rear bumpers on my eclipse, and and on the speed3 they scraped a trash can across the hood and a bike handlebar across the door. I wasn't able to catch them, and despite filing police reports, I wasn't able to get my insurance to fix it (suspiciously the repairs were always below my $250 deductible). We are planning on moving out of town in 2 or 3 years... we just can't stand living so close to everyone and having to park on the street.

Should I worry about fixing the damage (and hope it doesn't get damaged again in a few weeks), or just spend the money on go-fast parts?
I was thinking about a boost gauge, Hallman Pro RX ceramic MBC, and a downpipe or a cobb AP. I already have a MS CAI, a 2.5" turbo inlet pipe, and a 2.5" race pipe. I do take the car to one or two car shows a year... but it's not my primary concern to win anything. I usually don't even enter the judged class. I mostly just use it for daily driving and mountain runs.

leave it. I bet you this will buff out, or at least most of it.

I had a huge dent put in my rear bumper by a hit and run driver, I just popped the dent out and you can't even tell thanks to the urethane bumper.

I dont see any damage.
that's what i was thinking. where's the damage? lol. i say since it's a DD don't bother to get it fixed. if it was a second toy then get it fixed. since it's a DD something else is going to happen to it at some point so don't bother. i also have to say rather than spending money on mods i'd put it towards the principle of the car if it's not yet paid off. you just got your MS3 for $1000 cheaper than what you paid for it if you look at it like that.

When i read this topic, i think about that sort of things http://sourceradix.com/m/mon.html
You may check that, and most likely it would change your mind. Whatever.
is this spam?

It's easier to see in person. The picture I posted was right after the accident happened, before I washed it or tried to buff anything out. The black painted part buffed almost completely out... but the grey unpainted part on the bumper is still pretty ugly. I think I'll probably leave it alone for a while. At least till someone else hits the other side and I have more of a reason to fix it.

Probably going to buy an accessport, a boost gauge, and use the rest of the money to pay off some bills (damn high interest credit card has only about $200 left to pay it off... so that will take care of that).

I see the scuff mark. Diagonal and on the left, driver side. I agree, if you don't fix it now, and spend the money on other stuff, you will never fix it. I got rear ended less than 24 hrs after getting my 3 and I didn't even think twice about not fixing it. I needed a whole new bumper cover because the black center part was scuffed and that's not painted. My damage was something like $860 (bumper, paint installation). Put it this way, are you seriously ever going to fork over $1K in the future to get it fixed? If not, then you will always have a scuffed Speed3.
