First problem - Boot not locking

:
Mazda CX-5, Sport on order
Just booked my 2 week old Cx-5 in as the boot does not lock. This morning I went to the boot and opened it and thought I did not unlock it, sure enough not matter what I did with key fob or button it would not lock. Interesting though it did lock when the engine was running.

Now booked in my local dealer tomorrow morning to find out what is wrong!

There was no problem apparently if you have the key with you the boot always opens, this wasn't explained when I bought the car.

Glad to hear this was a non-issue but sorry you had to make a trip back to the dealer for something that wasn't properly demonstrated to you at delivery. The owner's manual contains almost all the info you need and since it's downloadable in pdf, I usually familiarize myself with all the features in advance.

CX5 needs to Lock Properly

I have just had a handbag stolen from my boot as I was within proximity with my fob for the thief to open boot and steal it. Not good enough Mazda, if I want my car to open then I will do that with my fob, I don't need every Tom Dick and Harry to have access too.

I wouldn't anticipate many "problems" henceforth, once you familiarize yourself with the vehicle.

I've had my CX-5 since March 10th, 2012, and it's been lovely, scant an issue. It's beginning to lose its tightness a bit, and beginning to rattle and creak and such, but that's always been my experience with Mazdas.

will the car lock itself if you were to walk by it but no go in? like if you if you don't open it will it relock after so many seconds?

answered my own post: it's not unlocked until you press the electronic button!
