First Mod

For $420 you could get a set of real snow tires and steel wheels. Plus you wouldn't have to pay to have them mounted and balanced, you could just swap them yourself.

All-season tires are no-season tires in my book. They do nothing exceptionally well.

I've considered that but I live in an area where full blown snows aren't really necessary. The streets are plowed within 12 hours of a storm. Besides, the rims are close to my favorite part of the car. I didn't drop the cash for it to stick some nasty-ass steelies on it for a quarter of the year when not entirely necessary. Plus, if it does dry out during the winter, those all seasons will perform umpteen times better than some winters. So that's why I went with all seasons.
