I just signed the papers yesterday for a 2010 AWD Grand Touring with nav/moonroof/pwr liftgate in Liquid Silver, picking up Monday.
Really wanted one with RES for the kids, but the couple I found stickered for > $40K and were not in the color we wanted. Decided to buy them their own handheld DVD players for $100 each.
Hardest part was picking a color. Love the blue, but we have a similar color blue BMW. Love black, since it hides all the plastic black trim, but we also have another black BMW, I know how much care black requires to keep looking good.
The last 2 "family" cars have been silver. They don't look as good clean, but don't require as much care and always look "decent", so went with silver.
Biggest concern is lack of cargo space. We are downgrading from a Honda Odyssey. My wife originally wanted a Pilot and they have more usable space inside and behind the 3rd row (which will always be up/in use). But I just hated the truck-ish looks of the new Pilot and loved the look of the CX-9. Also looks/feels so much more luxurious inside.
Only considered the GT because we wanted RES, but in the end decided against it and still went with the GT. When comparison shopping with the pilot, the Pilot Touring is just not compelling at all and you can get RES with the middle trim EX-L.
Reading about the seat heater/battery problem, I made sure to turn on the seat heaters on the test drives. This is a 12/09 build date, so not sure if it has the fix applied and would prefer the battery to die at the dealership before I take delivery!
Also went with the 0% for 60 months promotional financing. Hard to pass up, even though they would have knocked another $1K off if we paid cash (or did our own financing).
